Noticing the fraying and hem destruction on my own pant leg hems, I came up with the idea to design a device that could slip over the hem and thus to protect the material from friction wear and tear and from soiling from contact with the ground and other surfaces your pant leg comes in contact with.

Abstract
The Jeans Saver is a device designed to protect the pant leg hem from friction wear and tear and from soiling. The Jean Saver is made of plastic or metal and or the combination of plastic and metal. The Jean Saver is a rectangular shaped, open sided, narrow channel designed to slip over the hemmed part of a garments pant leg. The Jean Saver is an arched clip made of translucent plastic or of metal that can be applied upon the rear-bottom hem of the legs of denim blue jeans and other pants garments, thus protecting them from frictional contact and the resultant damage thereof.
The clip can also be made in colored formats for decorative purposes, and the exterior plane of this clip can also bear various images, logos and design enhancements, and which could even be separate from and attached upon the exterior plane, made of molded plastic or metal stamped front decoration(decorations will vary depending on brand affiliation). Size specs: 3.5″ w.×1″ h.(curved face)×0.6″ h.(ends, R&L) Side width: 0.2″ w. at bottom Top view: Curvature based on 8.5″ radius. Sizes are approximate and can vary.
Description
- The Jean Saver can be made of high impact translucent, clear or opaque plastic, metals, man made and natural materials and or the combination of such materials. The Jean Saver can be a rectangular shaped, open sided, narrow channel, designed to slip over the hemmed part of a garments pant leg. It can be clipped on, sewn on or glued on. The Jean Saver is a device that can be applied upon the rear-bottom hem of the legs of denim blue jeans and other pants garments, thus protecting them from damage. Any appropriate dimension, shape and arc radius sizes can vary depending on type of garment device is intended for.
- Directly behind the sides of the device are bracket clips of varying length and height This plastic version can be made with injection mold process. Format, material, dimensions and profile can change to accommodate designer and manufacturers specifications.
- The device can also be made in colored formats for decorative purposes, and the exterior plane of this device can also bear various images, logos and design enhancements, and which could even be separate from and attached upon the exterior plane with adhesives, made of molded plastic, metals, man made and natural materials and or the combination of such materials for the front decorations(decorations will vary depending on intent and or brand affiliation).

1. The “Jean Saver” protects the rear bottom hem of the legs of pants from frictional and abrasive contact, water marks, mud and other staining and marking elements.

20. INVENTION VARIATIONS: The “Jean Saver” can be made of various plastic materials of adequate durability and flexibility, such as but not limited to high-impact polystyrene (HIPS) and low-density polyethylene (LDPE).
21. The “Jean Saver” can be made in variations from metal materials, such as but not limited die-cast steel and aluminum. In such variations, the rear clip wall of the device may be attached upon the front plane by spring-loaded hinge.
22. The “Jean Saver” can be of various sizes and shapes, including ones specifically for particular sizes of pants, such as children's sizes.
23. The length, height and degree of curvature of the “Jean Saver” can vary.
24. The “Jean Saver” may feature a solid and consistent rear plane clip wall, or the clip walls may only be on the lateral ends of the unit.
25. The “Jean Saver” may be decorated with various designs, patterns, text and/or logos, which may or may not be of registered trademark and/or copyright status.
26. The “Jean Saver” may feature dimensional icons and images that can be applied upon the front plane of the device, and these icons and images may or may not be of registered trademark and/or copyright status. In such variations, these icons and images may be made of various materials, including various metals and plastics, and may be applied upon the device with various adhesive substances.
27. The “Jean Saver” can be made in variations that are permanently applied upon the bottom hem of pant legs.
