Abstract

A Fibreglass or UPVC construction (1) which will vary in shape and size according to which type of entrance i.e. door, window, airbrick etc, it is to cover. When fitted properly to the outside of the building and over the entrance, the rubber seal (4), which will vary In size depending on what type of surface it is to be secured to, will create a watertight seal, and therefore protect the inside of the property from water damage.

Description

  • This invention relates to protecting property from flooding.
  • Properties that have been built in certain areas which are now prone to flooding, causing all sorts of problems; apart from water damage and not being able to live in the property until it has been repair, there can be insurance and re-sale problems.
  • To overcome this, present invention proposes that when fitted properly to the outside of the building, and when each entrance, through which water can enter the building such as doors, windows, air bricks, etc, is independently covered by the Guard, this will make the building completely watertight, therefore no internal damage being caused. After initial installation the Guard can be removed and simply put back up as and when required.
  • An example of the invention will now be described by referring to the accompanying diagrams.
  • FIGURE 1: Shows the front view of the Guard with the metal support and secure holes which will be sandwiched inside the guard
  • FIGURE 2: Shows the back view of the Guard with the rubber seal which is on the outside of the Guard.
  • FIGURE 3: shows the sliced end view with the metal inside, rubber seal outside and slide cover of the Guard.
  • A Fibreglass or UPVC construction which will have a slight curve and be ribbed, to give it its strength, leading into flat ends for secure purposes. With a metal strip (2) running down inside (1) along both sides and the bottom. There are secure holes (3) placed at set points, this will allow the guard to be secured to the property by bolts, giving it equal pressure, and at the same time applying equal pressure to the rubber seal (4) therefore creating a watertight unit.
