Abstract
A fastening clip for attaching rails and posts in a fence structure and an attachment method of said fastening clip comprises a post clipping portion for clipping an outer surface of the post wherein each end region thereof be a connecting portion, and each end of the connecting portions be a rail clipping portion having an upper end or a lower end being a rail-edge clipping portion for clipping an upper surface or a lower surface of the rail respectively and the rail clipping portion has a through hole for inserting of a bolt.
Description
- This invention relates to a fastening clip for attaching rails and posts in a fence structure and an attachment method of said fastening clip comprising a post clipping portion for clipping an outer surface of the post wherein each end region thereof be a connecting portion, and each end of the connecting portions be a rail clipping portion having an upper end or a lower end being a rail-edge clipping portion for clipping an upper surface or a lower surface of the rail respectively and the rail clipping portion has a through hole for inserting of a bolt.
- The object of this invention is to provide a fastening clip for attaching rails and posts in a fence structure that can be rapidly and easily attached and detached as well as overcome disadvantages of a prior art attachment of rails and posts.
- A current attachment of rails and posts in a fence structure for defining boundaries comprises a plurality of posts in a form of a bar mounted at spaced intervals for attachment of a plurality of rails by
- each rail is in a form of an attaching bar or plate with a certain length for attaching between the posts at spaced intervals of various elevations for example attaching each end portion of the rails to each side of the posts, etc.
- The attachment of rails and posts in the fence structure as described above has disadvantages of an ease of rusting around attachment areas, a length of the rail needed to be equal to a separated distance between the two posts, time consumption and expertise skill needed in this attachment, and a difficulty in removal of the rails for replacement.

FIG. 1 illustrates afastening clip 1 for attaching rails and posts in a fence structure comprising apost clipping portion 2 as a clipping sheet formed into various shapes such as a circular shape, a non-circular shape, etc., such that said clipping sheet is a flat sheet or a clipping sheet formed into a corner in various features (as shown inFIG. 2 and 3) or a clipping sheet formed according to an outer surface of the post clipped thereon for clipping the outer surface of the post on each side thereof (as shown inFIG. 4 and 6) by - connecting
portions 3 each extending from each end region of the post clippingportion 2 as a folded portion or a curved portion or a portion formed according to the outer surface of the post clipped thereon for clipping an edge of the outer surface of the post on each side thereof (as shown inFIGS. 4 and 6 ), and -
rail clipping portions 4 each extending from each end region of the connectingportions 3 as a flat clipping sheet or a curved clipping sheet or a clipping sheet formed into a corner in various features or a clipping sheet formed according to the outer surface of the rail clipped thereon for clipping an outer surface of the rails from each side thereof (as shown inFIG. 4 and 6), wherein - an upper end region or a lower end region of each of the
rail clipping portions 4 is a rail-edge clipping portion 5 as a flat clipping sheet or a curved clipping sheet or a clipping sheet formed into a corner in various features or a clipping sheet formed according to the outer surface of the rail clipped thereon for clipping an upper surface or a lower surface of the rails respectively on each side thereof (as shown inFIGS. 4 and 6 ), and - there is a through
hole 6 in therail clipping portion 4 as a circular hole or a non-circular hole for inserting of a bolt. -
FIG. 2 illustrates afastening clip 1 of another embodiment for attaching rails and posts in a fence structure comprising apost clipping portion 2 as a flat clipping sheet formed into an angle in various features for clipping an outer surface of the post on each side thereof (as shown inFIGS. 4 and 6 ) by - connecting
portions 3 each extending from each end region of the post clippingportion 2 as a folded portion for clipping an edge of the outer surface of the post on each side thereof (as shown inFIG. 5 ), and -
rail clipping portions 4 each extending from each end region of the connectingportions 3 as a flat clipping sheet for clipping an outer surface of the rails on each side thereof (as shown inFIG. 5 ), wherein - an upper end region or a lower end region of each of the
rail clipping portions 4 is a rail-edge clipping portion 5 as a curved clipping sheet for clipping an upper surface or a lower surface of the rails respectively on each side thereof (as shown inFIGS. 4 and 6 ), and - there is a through
hole 6 in therail clipping portion 4 as a circular hole or a non-circular hole for inserting of a bolt. -
FIG. 3 illustrates afastening clip 1 of another embodiment for attaching rails and posts in a fence structure comprising a post clippingportion 2 of another embodiment for clipping an outer surface of the post on each side thereof (as shown inFIG. 6 ) by -
rail clipping portions 4 each extending from each end region of the post clippingportion 2 as a flat clipping sheet for clipping an outer surface of the rails on each side thereof(as shown inFIG. 6 ), wherein - an upper end region or a lower end region of each of the
rail clipping portions 4 is a rail-edge clipping portion 5 as a curved clipping sheet for clipping an upper surface or a lower surface of the rails respectively on each side thereof (as shown inFIG. 6 ), and - there is a through
hole 6 in the rail clippingportions 4 as a circular hole or a non-circular hole for inserting of a bolt. - From the embodiments of the
fastening clip 1 for attaching rails and posts in a fence structure, inner surfaces of thefastening clips 1 are rough or uneven surfaces (not shown in the figures) for improving attachment to the post surfaces or the rail surfaces (as shown inFIGS. 4 and 6 ), wherein - A fastening
clip 1 of another embodiment for attaching rails and posts in a fence structure is a fastening clip consisting of elements such that each element is connected together as afastening clip 1 for attaching rails and posts in a fence structure by fastening means, or molded into a fasteningclip 1 for attaching rails and posts in a fence structure. Said fastening clip (1) for attaching rails and posts in the fence structure is made of a metal or a nonmetal. -
FIG. 4 illustrates an attachment of thefastening clip 1 for attaching rails and posts in a longitudinal section of a fence structure comprisingfastening clips 1 wherein post clippingportions 2 clip outer surfaces of thepost 7 on each side thereof, and - rail clipping
portions 4 clip outer surfaces of therails 8 on each side thereof, and - each through
hole 6 is inserted by abolt 9 having abolt head 10 on one end and a shank for engagement of anut 11 on the other end after attaching ofrails 8 andpost 7 using the fasteningclip 1 by - the
bolt 9 is in a form of a bar bolt having thebolt head 10 on one end and ashoulder 12 between thebolt head 10 and the shank in which theshoulder 12 has a circular shape or a non-circular shape for engaging with thethrough hole 6 of the fasteningclip 1, and - there is a
post cap 13 closed on an upper end of thepost 7 for preventing water or other contaminants getting inside thepost 7. -
FIG. 5 and 6 illustrate an attachment of thefastening clip 1 for attaching rails and cornered posts in a fence structure comprising thefastening clips 1 wherein post clippingportions 2 clip an outer surfaces of thepost 7 on each side thereof, and - rail clipping
portions 4 clip an outer surface of therail 8 on each side thereof, and - each through
hole 6 is inserted by abolt 9 having abolt head 10 on one end and a shank for engagement of anut 11 on the other end after the attachment ofrails 8 andpost 7 using thefastening clip 1 by - the
bolt 9 is in a form of a bar bolt having thebolt head 10 on one end and ashoulder 12 between thebolt head 10 and the shank in which theshoulder 12 has a circular shape or a non-circular shape for engaging with thethrough hole 6 of the fasteningclip 1, and - there is a
post cap 13 closed on the upper end of thepost 7 for preventing water or other contaminants getting inside thepost 7. - From the fastening clip for attaching rails and posts in the fence structure and the attachment method of said fastening clip, the attaching
rails 8 andposts 7 in a fence structure can be rapidly and easily attached and detached, labor for the attachment is reduced, and the attachment time is less than other attachment methods.
Claims (7)
1. A fastening clip for attaching rails and posts in a fence structure and an attachment method of said fastening clip characterized in that the fastening clip (1) for attaching rails and posts in the fence structure comprising a post clipping portion (2) as a clipping sheet formed into a flat sheet or a clipping sheet formed into a corner in various features or a clipping sheet formed according to an outer surface of the post clipped thereon for clipping an outer surface of the post (7) and
a rail clipping portion (4) extending from at least one side of the sides of the post clipping portion (2) as a flat clipping sheet or a curved clipping sheet or a clipping sheet formed into a corner in various features or a clipping sheet formed according to the outer surface of the rail clipped thereon for clipping an outer surface of the rail (8), wherein
at least one of an upper end region or a lower end region of the rail clipping portion (4) is a rail-edge clipping portion (5) as a flat clipping sheet or a curved clipping sheet or a clipping sheet formed into a corner in various features or a clipping sheet formed according to an outer surface of the rail clipped thereon for clipping an upper surface or a lower surface of the rail (8) and
there is a through hole (6) in the rail clipping portion (4) at least one hole for fastening the fastening clips (1) together by fastening means.

The fastening clip for attaching rails and posts in the fence structure and the attachment method of said fastening clip according to claim 1 , wherein there is a connecting portion (3) between the side of the post clipping portion (2) and the rail clipping portion (4) for clipping the edge of the post (8).

The fastening clip for attaching rails and posts in the fence structure and the attachment method of said fastening clip according to claim 2 , wherein the connecting portion (3) is a folded portion or a curved portion or a portion formed according to the outer surface of the post clipped thereon for clipping the edge of the outer surface of the post (8).

The fastening clip for attaching rails and posts in the fence structure and the attachment method of said fastening clip according to claim 1 , wherein the fastening clip (1) for attaching rails and posts in the fence structure is the fastening clip consisting of elements such that each element is connected together as the fastening clip (1) for attaching rails and posts in the fence structure by fastening means, or molded into the fastening clip (1) for attaching rails and posts in the fence structure.
5. The fastening clip for attaching rails and posts in the fence structure and the attachment method of said fastening clip according to claim 1 , wherein inner surfaces of the fastening clip (1) are uneven surfaces for improving attachment thereof while contact with the post (7) or the rail (8).
6. The fastening clip for attaching rails and posts in the fence structure and the attachment method of said fastening clip according to claim 1 , wherein the fastening clip (1) for attaching rails and posts in the fence structure is made of a metal or a nonmetal.

The fastening clip for attaching rails and posts in the fence structure and the attachment method of said fastening clip according to claim 1 , wherein the attachment of the fastening clips (1) for attaching rails and posts in the fence structure can be done by clipping one piece of the fastening clip (1) on one side of the post (7) and the rails (8), and then clipping the other piece of the fastening clip (1) on the other side of the post(7)and the rails(8), and fastening them together by fastening means or fastening via a through hole (6) of the rail clipping portion (4).
