Abstract

The present invention provides a soil-retaining wall of recycled tires by ecological constructing method; for preventing downward travel of earth and gravel, a great number of recycled tires are superposed longitudinally and latitudinally as well as moored by cables or soft steel reinforcing bars; concrete is poured into the waste tires; gaps between the adjacent tires are filled with shreds of tires and gravel; the accomplished soil-retaining wall has good draining and buffering functions and is endurable; the friction area on the bottom portion thereof is large and not easy to be pushed to slide; therefore, the structure is capable of efficiently eliminating the occurrence of downward travel of earth and gravel on mountainside.

Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • 1) Field of the Invention [0001]
  • The present invention relates to a soil-retaining wall of recycled tires by ecological constructing method, more especially to a soil-retaining wall built by recycled and waste tires with function of draining the water content in the loosened soil and sand on mountainside for facilitating maintenance and protection; the structure is more practical and endurable than soil-retaining wall made by conventional constructing method. [0002]
  • 2) Description of the Prior Art [0003]
  • The soil and water conservation for mountainsides in Taiwan has not been implemented as expected; the situation of downward travel of earth and gravel happens whenever the Island is attacked by typhoons and that results in damaging people's life and properties; however, the result is deviated from the long-term excessive logging and cultivation on mountainsides; for the time being, the government departments have not yet provided any useful policy or solution; the factors causing the downward travel of earth and gravel on mountainsides are usually nothing more than undesired draining function; the water flowing downwardly from the mountain top is blocked, so instead of being drained through the mountainside, the water content is cumulated thereon for a long time; that results in having softened and mudded soil on mountainside which further leads to mountain landslides and downward travel of earth and gravel on mountainsides.   • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • The primary objective of the present invention is to provide a soil-retaining wall of recycled tires by ecological constructing method; mainly a plurality of recycled tires or waste tires are moored longitudinally and latitudinally by cables or soft steel reinforcing bars as well as filled with concrete; through the longitudinal and latitudinal superposition, a soil-retaining wall is thereby constructed; since the soil-retaining wall is based on the recycled tires, the good draining function thereof enables the water content in the loosened soil and sand to drain outwardly; furthermore, the water draining facility and filtering layer thereof will never be blocked, so the situation of downward travel of earth and gravel on mountainside can thereby be prevented.   • Another objective of the present invention is to provide a soil-retaining wall of recycled tires by ecological constructing method to enlarge the friction area on the bottom portion of the soil-retaining wall with gravity so it is not easy to be pushed to slide; it has good planting and buffering functions and it is also convenient for maintenance and protection. [0006]
  • Yet another objective of the present invention is to provide a soil-retaining wall of recycled tires by ecological constructing method to incorporate with filling of shreds and stones to compose a construction which never blocks and has good function of permeating and draining water; it is also capable of strengthening the structure and flexibility of the soil-retaining wall. [0007]
  • Still another objective of the present invention is to provide a soil-retaining wall of recycled tires by ecological constructing method, wherein, the present invention can be applied to constructing a hydraulic embankment for ecology of environmental conservation. [0008]
  • To enable a further understanding of the present invention, the brief description of the drawings below is followed by the detailed description of the preferred embodiment.[0009]

  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
  • Referring to FIGS. 1 and 2, the recycled tires (waste tires) or the soil-retaining wall provided by the present invention mainly aim to prevent the situation of mudding, downward travel of earth and gravel as well as mountain landslides and to improve the shortcomings of the undesired water draining function; it further has all of the specific functions for various environmental conservation, easy maintenance and endurableness; as shown in FIG. 1, a soil-retaining wall ([0013] 1) composed by recycled tires is retained and built on the outer side of the mountainside (100); gapes (200) between the soil-retaining wall (1) and the current topographic lines (101) of the mountainside (100) can be filled with shreds of the tires, gravel or sand; most of the water tires (11) on the soil-retaining wall (1) are filled with concrete and few of the waste tires (11) at the top end are filled with sand and soil for planting trees, flowers or grass to beautify the external view of the soil-retaining wall (1); the said soil-retaining wall (1) uses a great number of waste tires (11) superposed longitudinally and latitudinally to form irregular styles of the soil-retaining wall (1); a drain ditch (12) is built at a proper area inside the soil-retaining wall (1) to form a whole construction for strengthening the wall body.
  • Referring to FIG. 2, firstly, the waste tires ([0014] 11) adjacent longitudinally and latitudinally are moored by the cables or soft steel reinforcing bars to form a complete soil-retaining structure; for enhancing the structural stability, concrete (300) formed by cement mortar is poured into the waste tires (11); the condensed concrete (300) is capable of efficiently enhancing the strength of the entire body; the gaps (100) at the centers of four adjacent waste tires (11) are filled with shreds of the tires or gravel, through the design of using the waste tires (11) to build a soil-retaining wall (1), at least the following effects can be achieved for improvement:
  • 1. It saves the wall construction budget. The construction cost required for building a soil-retaining wall of the present invention by the water tires is less than that required for building a [0015] 1 soil-retaining wall by conventional steel reinforcing bars and cement; the construction time is less than half of the conventional one; therefore it has the dual effects of being efficient and economic.
  • 2. It has good draining function. The soil-retaining wall enables water content in the loosened and soft soil and sand to drain easily, the draining facility and the filtering layer won't block or cumulate water since all of the gaps among the tires have the function of draining water. [0016]
  • 3. It can not be easily pushed to slide. The bottom portion of the soil-retaining wall with gravity of the present invention is not a flat construction, so the friction area thereof is larger and that prevents the soil-retaining wall from being pushed to slide. [0017]
  • 4. It is durable and easy to maintain. The maintenance and protection of the present invention constructed by waste tires are very convenient; the structure thereof lasts longer and is several times durable of that of the conventional soil-retaining wall. [0018]
  • 5. It has buffering and planting functions. The waste tires have resilient buffering force and the soil-retaining wall is capable of preventing the external force from damaging the structure in terms of bumping between hard objects, in other words, it has the special nature of buffering; furthermore, trees, flowers or grass can be planted thereon.   • Additionally, another exemplary embodiment of the present invention, as shown in FIG. 3, the structure of the present invention constructed by waster tires can be applied to a hydraulic embankment ([0020] 3) of ecology of environmental conservation; a great number of waster tires (11) are superposed longitudinally and latitudinally to form the embankment (3); concrete is poured into the said waste tires (11); a road (31), a draining ditch (32) and steps (33) are built thereon; the water channel (500) built inbetween provides a safe and hiding space for fish and shrimp to gather, live and propagate; the steps (33) convenience the workers to go up or down to get closer to the water; most primarily, the sturdiness, enduringness and the flexibility thereof are incomparable with the conventional embankment.
  • In summation of the abovementioned, the present invention of a soil-retaining wall of recycled tires by ecological constructing method improves the shortcomings of the conventional soil-retaining wall and provides an innovative soil-retaining wall with concept of environmental reservation and capable of efficiently preventing the downward travel of earth and gravel; the practical function is undoubted and the present invention has not been previously disclosed in any book or document. [0021]

Claims (6)

1. A soil-retaining wall of recycled tires by ecological constructing method mainly uses a great number of waste tires superposed longitudinally and latitudinally to extend upwardly and downwardly toward two sides to accomplish the basic structure of the main body of the said soil-retaining wall; the waste tires are moored by cables or soft steel reinforcing bars longitudinally and latitudinally to form a complete structure; concrete is poured into the waste tires for efficiently strengthening the entire structure; by virtue of the special nature thereof, the soil-retaining wall has good water draining function and is endurable, capable of buffering , not easy to slide and able to prevent the occurrence of downward travel of earth and gravel on mountainside.
2. A soil-retaining wall of recycled tires by ecological constructing method according to claim 1, wherein the gaps between the soil-retaining wall and the present topographic lines on mountainside are filled with shreds of waste tires, gravel or sand.
3. A soil-retaining wall of recycled tires by ecological constructing method according to claim 1, wherein the gaps at the centers of the waste tires are filled with shreds of waste tires or gravel.
4. A soil-retaining wall of recycled tires by ecological constructing method according to claim 1, wherein a drain ditch is constructed on the soil-retaining wall.
5. A soil-retaining wall of recycled tires by ecological constructing method according to claim 1, wherein concrete is poured into most of the waste tires of the soil-retaining wall; few waste tires at the top end thereon are filled with sand and soil for planting trees, flowers or grass.
6. A soil-retaining wall of recycled tires by ecological constructing method according to claim 1, wherein the present invention is applied to a hydraulic embankment of ecology of environmental conservation.
