The invention relates to a drawer (3) which is incorporated in a cupboard, in particular kitchen cupboard drawer, having pull-out telescopic runners (5), in each case comprising a fixed runner (6) and a co-moving runner (7), a longitudinal attachment bracket (9) being disposed on the co-moving runner (7), and the longitudinal attachment bracket (9) being supplemented on the end sides by end panels (10, 11) to form a frame construction, and, to achieve an advantageous development with a view to an optional use function, proposes that the longitudinal attachment brackets (9) are the support for a rigid hanging frame (R) which has no base and in which one or more refuse containers (12) are held hanging freely.

Description

  • The invention relates to a drawer which is incorporated in a cupboard, in particular kitchen cupboard drawer, having pull-out telescopic runners, in each case comprising a fixed runner and a co-moving runner, a longitudinal attachment bracket being disposed on the co-moving runner, and the longitudinal attachment bracket being supplemented on the end sides by end panels to form a frame construction. [0001]
  • It is an object of the invention to advantageously develop a cupboard drawer of the generic type using existing structural features; the intention is to open up a further function for the base of the cupboard drawer. [0002]
  • This object is initially and substantially achieved with a cupboard drawer having the features of [0003] claim 1 in which it is provided that the longitudinal attachment brackets are the support for a rigid hanging frame which has no base and in which one or more refuse containers are held hanging freely.
  • A configuration of this type produces a cupboard drawer of the generic type which is of increased value in use. The drawer base is replaced by a hanging frame, such that the corresponding variability (drawer base and/or hanging frame) is achieved substantially utilizing structural elements which are already present, which is advantageous in terms of production. Another form of variability exists with regard to the extremely varying divisions of area for the refuse container cross sections. The hanging frame functions practically as a mask which can be exchanged at will. Its rigid form, for example made from metal, wood or hard plastics, provides it with a sufficient load-bearing capacity. The longitudinal attachment bracket and the associated hanging frame further stabilize one another. The stability achieved is so considerable that even relatively bulky and even a plurality of refuse containers can be fitted hanging freely, for the purpose of removing refuse which has been sorted according to type. If the connection of the said parts to one another is effected by conventional attachment means, such as screws, it is at any time also possible to convert back, by fitting a closed base, so that the original function of a drawer is restored. In structural terms, it has proven advantageous for the hanging frame to be supported by a U-section which, with its U-opening directed outwards from the frame, is disposed on the longitudinal attachment bracket. The U-web, over this longitudinal region, continuously circumscribes the opening of the hanging frame; this facilitates maintenance and reduces the risk of injury during corresponding maintenance operations. Furthermore, it is proposed for the longitudinal attachment bracket to extend in the region below the runners. In this case, it is advantageous if the U-section is disposed built on top of a longitudinal attachment bracket. This results in suitable utilization of spatial features, once again with the effect of providing mutual stabilizing despite the use of rather thin-walled material. Furthermore, it has proven advantageous for the hanging frame, as seen in cross section, to be of L-shaped form. Furthermore, it is provided that the hanging frame, at least on its longitudinal sides, is the support for a sealing profile which interacts with a covering of the runners. A sealing profile consisting of rubber or rubber-like material results in a particularly close-fitting connection to the surrounding region, i.e. the edge of the cupboard drawer, in this case the upper-side covering of the runners. The invention then proposes for the U-section or the hanging frame, for the purpose of attachment to the longitudinal attachment bracket, to have slots which extend in a direction which is transverse to the pulling-out direction of the cupboard drawer. These allow a variation in width, therefore allowing the adjustment of the clear width of the opening of the hanging frame in the said direction. Furthermore, it is provided, on a drawer which is incorporated in a cupboard, the cupboard having cupboard walls, that a support which incorporates a loosely inserted lid is disposed on an inner side of a cupboard wall. This lid forms a refuse retainer and, if appropriate, even an odour seal and is itself secured against displacement. It can easily be lifted off for cleaning purposes. In this connection, a particularly simple structural solution consists in the support for the lid being the mount for the fixed runner and in the lid being of U-shaped shape, with the U-limbs engaging over the runner on the cupboard wall side. The mount is thus provided with a useful extension of its functions. In this way, positional securing is also provided on the transverse side, simply on the basis of the U-shaped cross-sectional form of the said lid. In addition, it is proposed that the lid, by means of suitable moulded protuberances, engages over the end faces of the mount of the fixed runner. The invention then proposes for the longitudinal attachment limbs to extend at the height of the runners. This primarily has a stabilizing effect. Also, the hanging load is absorbed without any bending effect. Furthermore, the invention proposes for the hanging frame to be disposed at the height of the runners. This helps to achieve a compact manner of construction using the benefit of mutual stabilization. On the other hand, it is also possible to intervene using a solution according to which the hanging frame is arranged on the upper side of the runners. In this case, the height of the runners is added as additional space for the refuse container. Furthermore, it is advantageous for the fixed runner to be attached to the cupboard wall, preferably in direct association. Moreover, as a development it is provided that a limb of the covering, which is substantially U-shaped in cross section, of the runners is connected to the co-moving runner. This produces a closed box section, once again helping to reinforce the guide region. The limb which closes the box section is a cupboard-wall-side limb of the covering. In this case, an inside limb of the covering, the U-opening of which faces downwards, ends below the hanging frame. In this case, the orientation is made such that the end of the inside limb points into the U-opening of the U-section. On the other hand, however, it is also possible for the procedure to be such that the inside limb is part of a disposal funnel mounted in front of the opening of the refuse bin. The enlarged funnel opening has the effect of guiding in the refuse, for example in the event of the refuse being put in with a lack of precision, i.e. control. In this case, the height of the telescopic runner which is already present is utilized optimally for this purpose. With regard to the further form and association of the hanging frame, it has proven advantageous for the hanging frame, at least on its longitudinal limbs, to have an adjustment part which serves to interact with the longitudinal attachment bracket. In this way, it is possible to vary the frame opening, in particular to provide fine adjustment for the secure hanging of the refuse container. This is structurally embodied in the fact that the adjustment part adjustably incorporates a horizontal limb of a hanging section. The adjustment part is expediently a strip-like part. A strip which is U-shaped in cross section is expediently used. The U-space of this strip can be utilized to optimum effect, the U-limbs forming the “meat” for an attachment means. In this case, it is accordingly advantageous for the adjustment part to have an attachment recess which is covered by the inserted hanging section crossing over it.[0004]

  • FIG. 12 shows a cross section through the hanging frame (R), which is in this case at a lower level, of the cupboard drawer, showing an adjustment device which has been modified from the basic version shown in FIG. 1, [0017]
  • FIG. 13 shows a complete right-hand side sectional illustration of the cupboard drawer.[0018]
  • A [0019] cupboard drawer 3 is incorporated in the interior 1 of a kitchen cupboard 2, in particular a fitted cupboard of a row of fitted kitchen cupboards. The drawer is guided on horizontal runners and at the front can be pulled out into a freely projecting position.
  • The runner guidance is produced by pull-out [0020] telescopic runners 5 held on the inner sides of lateral cupboard walls 4 which run parallel to one another. These telescopic runners in each case comprise one fixed runner 6 and one co-moving runner 7. The telescopic runner 5 may also have an associated intermediate runner (not shown) if the extension movement required provided by a two-component pull-out telescopic runner 5 is not sufficient.
  • The fixed [0021] runner 6 rests in a fixed position on the inside of the corresponding cupboard wall 4. For this purpose, the said runner 6 merges into a mount 8. This is preferably a flange-like strip with attachment perforations for screws or the like.
  • A mount which leads toward the [0022] cupboard drawer 3 starts in the opposite direction from the co-moving runner 7. This mount comprises a longitudinal attachment bracket 9. Both longitudinal sides of the cupboard drawer 3 are fitted in this way.
  • The two [0023] longitudinal attachment brackets 9 form part of a frame construction. End panels 10 and 11 supplement or close off the frame, 10 being a front end panel and 11 a back end panel. The front end panel 10 may simultaneously be formed as a trim with a handle feature to allow comfortable pulling out of the cupboard drawer 3 and pushing in thereof.
  • The frame-closing attachment means may be of conventional type, i.e. angled-off parts with passage holes for attachment screws. [0024]
  • The horizontally oriented [0025] longitudinal attachment brackets 9 form the support for a hanging frame R, which has no base, of the cupboard drawer 3. One or more refuse containers 12 is/are held hanging freely in this hanging frame 3.
  • According to the exemplary embodiment illustrated, the [0026] longitudinal attachment brackets 9 indirectly incorporate the hanging frame R. A stabilizing strip section, which is basically practically a U-section 13, is connected in between. This U-section has its U-opening 14 directed outward from the frame. The opening faces towards the inside of the corresponding cupboard wall 4.
  • The [0027] vertical U-web 15 of the U-section 13 continues at the top into a shorter U-limb 16 and at the bottom into a longer U-limb 17, so that in the specific embodiment it is, as it were, a standing L-section which is formed.
  • The upper, shorter U-limb [0028] 16 forms the rest for the hanging frame R.
  • The hanging frame R is produced as an attachment trim and can be plug-fitted to the rest with regard to its [0029] U-sections 13. It rests on the U-web 15 under plug stress. It also has a L-section. It is in a lying position. The shorter L-section limb faces downwards. It forms the frame opening 18, adapted to the cross section of the lateral wall of the refuse container 12. The U-web 15 likewise circumscribes, offset by the dimension of the thickness of the downwardly facing L-section limb of the hanging frame R, the said lateral wall. In the downward direction, this wall adopts a conical profile. As shown in FIG. 1, there is also sufficient hanging clearance available.
  • The suspended support for the [0030] refuse container 12 utilizes the edge bead, which is angled outwards and downwards, of this refuse container as supporting rim 19.
  • The [0031] refuse container 12 is gripped in a known manner by means of fold-out carry handles 20.
  • Further details of the hanging frame R are shown in FIGS. [0032] 2 to 7. The contour of the refuse containers which can be hung in the frame opening 18 is illustrated in the form of dot-dashed lines in FIGS. 2 and 5.
  • FIG. 2 provides a twin fitting. In this case, identically [0033] sized refuse containers 12 which are substantially rectangular in cross section are disposed one behind the other in the longitudinal direction. They support one another at their common boundary. In this respect, reference is made to the longitudinal centre, where a somewhat exaggerated gap 21 is shown for reasons of clarity.
  • According to the variant shown in FIG. 5, the basic contour is changed in that in this case the hanging frame R has two basically [0034] rectangular frame openings 18, in each case provided with a twin fitting. In width terms, one frame opening is set at approximately half the size of the larger frame opening 18. The two frame openings 18 of the hanging frame R are separated from one another by means of an intermediate strut 22. In this variant too, there is the gap 21, which in this case too is so small that there can be no significant slipping of the suspended refuse containers 12. Moreover, the frame-reinforcing inner angling which forms the basis of the L-section described can be seen in FIGS. 2 to 7, denoted by 23. Such angled portions 23 are also made or can be implemented in the region of the front end panel 10 and rear end panel 11, functioning, as it were, as welcome reinforcement and, also, being usable as stops. The angled portions in this case lie on the outside or also on the outside.
  • The [0035] longitudinal attachment brackets 9 of the drawer-side, i.e. co-moving, runner 7 extend in the region below the runners 6, 7. The lower, longer U-limb 17 of the U-section 13 rests on the horizontally angled-off longitudinal attachment bracket 9, where it is held. A rivet 24, for example, is used for attachment. This rivet passes through the mutually overlapping ends of the parts 9, 17. In addition to a standard passage hole on one part, the longitudinal attachment bracket 9 or the lower U-limb 17 may also have a slot 25. Reference is made to FIG. 1. From this figure, it can be seen that the said slots 25 extend in the direction which is transverse to the pulling-out direction, arrow X of the cupboard drawer 3. The result is an advantageous and, at the same time, simple adjustment device for determining the play in this direction with regard to the frame opening 18. For adjustment perpendicular to the cupboard walls 4, there is sufficient free space 26 available with regard to the configuration of the longitudinal attachment brackets 9. This space lies between the longitudinal narrow edge of the lower U-limb 17 and a section 27, which projects vertically in front of it, of the longitudinal attachment bracket 9, which merges, via an outwardly directed angled portion, into a base section 28 of the co-moving runner 7.
  • The pull-out [0036] telescopic runners 5 are hidden from sight, based on the customary viewing angle. An upper-side covering 29 is used for this purpose. This covering, as seen in cross section, is practically U-sheet, slightly moving towards a V-section. At the top, it is appropriately rounded in its U-vertex and, with a downwardly directed U-limb which is remote from the frame opening, forms a type of covering shield 30. The other U-limb 31, which lies closer to the frame opening 18, is formed to slope obliquely downwards in this direction towards the inside of the frame. It merges into a concave rounded section and ends in a distinctly lug-like moulded protuberance 32, which normally functions as a retaining means or supplements a holding groove for the base, which is optionally to be associated again with the longitudinal attachment bracket 9, of the cupboard drawer 3. This base, which is formed by a board or the like, bears the reference numeral 33 and is indicated in the form of dot-dashed lines in FIG. 1.
  • The vertically adjoining end tab which is adjacent to the horizontal lower edge of the lug-like [0037] moulded protuberance 32 is connected to the above-explained section 27 of the longitudinal attachment bracket 9. The connection can be produced economically by spot-welding.
  • The [0038] limb 31 which goes towards the U-opening 14 is then still utilized in that it is used to form a type of joint seal between the body of the covering 29 and the hanging frame R. A sealing profile 34 is also associated. The hanging frame R, specifically the non-angled longitudinal edge thereof, serves to hold the sealing profile 34, which consists of rubber or the like, so that this can be used as a support for the sealing profile 34, which is equipped with a corresponding mounting shoe 35. The end edge of the upper limb of the mounting shoe 35 is bevelled at the longitudinal narrow edge, so that a sealing lip arrangement exists. In the back, the shoe 35 continues as a projecting tab, which is concavely curved as seen from above and bears resiliently, through a slight prestress, and therefore with a good seal against the corresponding wide surface of the limb 31. The corresponding concavity avoids the formation of nests of dirt. Rather, easy cleaning can be brought about.
  • The upper-side opening of the [0039] cupboard drawer 3 and therefore that of the refuse containers 12 is topped with a lid. The corresponding lid bears the reference numeral 36. The lower side of its cover 37 leaves a certain crevice dimension to the ridge of the covering 29 and the end plates 10 and 11 which at the upper side end at substantially the same height. It is thus possible for the cupboard drawer 3 to run beneath the cover 37 without obstacle. Acting as an odour seal, a sealing strip may be connected in between.
  • The [0040] lid 36 finds support on the cupboard attachment wall side. This is achieved via the interaction of its cross-sectional form. This is U-shaped. The U-web constitutes the abovementioned cover 37, whereas the downwardly directed angled-off U-limbs stand, as it were, as cheeks 38 on the cupboard-wall-side support, formed by the above-explained mount 8 of the fixed runner 6. The lid 36 is inserted loosely on this part.
  • As can be seen, the [0041] cheeks 38, together with the edge part, which merges into the horizontal, of the cover 37, cover both the covering 29 and the cupboard-wall-side runner 6. The plug-in space for this purpose bears the reference numeral 39.
  • When the cupboard drawer is pulled, the tunnel-[0042] like lid 36 itself is retained in the interior 1 of the kitchen cupboard 2. To do this, stationary retaining elements may be used. In this case, it is the case that the lid 36 engages over the end faces of the mount 8 of the fixed runner 6 by means of suitable moulded protuberances 40.
  • Alternatively, the resting end edge of the [0043] cheeks 38 may be stepped and interact with an appropriate stepped form of the mount, in which case the step blocks the lid 36 from being pulled out. Therefore, to remove the lid 36, the latter has to be lifted out deliberately, in order to overcome the step or the moulded protuberance 40, which has the same effect.
  • According to the basic version (cf. for example FIG. 1), fixed [0044] runner 6 and co-moving runner 7 of the telescopic runners 5 are disposed offset significantly upwards with respect to the longitudinal attachment brackets 9. According to the developments shown in FIGS. 11 to 13, this has changed. It can be seen that the said runners 6, 7, in terms of their planes, lie closer to the longitudinal attachment brackets 9. The longitudinal attachment brackets 9 extend virtually at the height of the runners 6, 7 or vice versa.
  • While according to the basic version, the hanging frame R is disposed at the height of the [0045] runners 6, 7 disposed in a higher plane, according to the refinement shown in FIGS. 12 and 13, the hanging frame R lies at the height of the runners 6, 7 which lie in a lower plane.
  • According to the refinements shown in FIGS. [0046] 11 to 13, the fixed runner 6 is likewise directly attached to the cupboard wall 4. This takes place via the mount 8, which is now angled off upwards and, by means of the upper end of its vertical section, bears the resting end edge of the cheeks 38 of the lid 36.
  • Furthermore, the covering [0047] 29, which is substantially U-shaped in cross section, is developed further. It is closed towards the base portion 28, which starts from the longitudinal attachment bracket 9 and is configured as an upwardly leading U shape, and therefore towards the co-moving runner 7. The covering screen, which is denoted overall by 30, no longer fits, as in the basic version, with its free end in the plug-in shaft 39. Rather, the covering screen 30, which forms a limb which lies closer to the cupboard wall 4, merges into the angled-off limb of the base portion 28. It is attached thereto, for example is held by spot-welding. As a result, a stable box profiling, which overlies the base 28, is formed for the bearing-forming portion of the longitudinal attachment bracket 9.
  • The correspondingly box-profiling, cooperating utilization of the [0048] inclined limb 31 of the covering 29 is explained in the context of the basic version. The reference numerals are employed accordingly. The rivet 24 forms the connection member to the U-section 13, which bears the hanging frame R disposed above in accordance with the basic version and in accordance with FIG. 11.
  • In accordance with the basic version and FIG. 11, the obliquely dropping, [0049] inclined limb 31, which runs at an acute angle in the direction of the steep wall of the refuse container 12, ends below the above-lying hanging frame R. As can be seen from the drawing, the end of the limb 31 which is shaped in the manner of a pointed lug points into the U-opening 14 of the U-section 13.
  • In the variant shown in FIGS. 12 and 13, the U-section [0050] 13, including the sealing profile 14 towards the covering 29 is no longer used. In this case, the low-lying longitudinal attachment bracket 9, specifically its horizontal limb, is employed as a bearer for the lower-laid hanging frame R. The inner-side limb 31, which is now entirely exposed, of the covering 29, which is closed in the manner of a box profile towards the co-moving runner 7, now represents, running in the direction of travel of the cupboard drawer 3, a disposal funnel 41 mounted in front of the opening of the refuse container 12.
  • FIGS. 12 and 13 indicate an adjustment device, by means of which the [0051] frame opening 18 can be changed, at least transversely to the direction of displacement of the cupboard drawer 3, specifically in the sense of sufficient engagement beneath the supporting edge 19 of the refuse container 12. This is structurally embodied by the fact that the hanging frame R, at least on its longitudinal limbs, has an adjustment part 42 which serves to interact with the longitudinal attachment bracket 9. This adjustment part rests on the horizontal limb of the longitudinal attachment bracket 9. In terms of height, it extends as far as the lower side of the pointing-out lug of the inner-side limb 31. The lug clearly projects above the vertical portion 27, on the rear side of which, which in this case also offers the moulded protuberance 32, it merges into the base portion 28, representing the co-moving runner 7. The adjustment part 42 is basically in two parts. It has a fixed part a and a moving part b.
  • The [0052] adjustment part 42 adjustably incorporates a horizontal limb 43 of a hanging section R′. The horizontal limb 43 fits into a correspondingly oriented, matching groove 44, which is open on the container side, of the fixed part a.
  • The [0053] adjustment part 42 is in strip form both with regard to the fixed part a and with regard to the moving part b. In terms of construction materials, it may be in the form of wood, metal or plastic strips.
  • The fixed part a is basically U-profiled, the U-opening forming the said [0054] groove 44. That limb of the U-profile which lies closer to the longitudinal attachment bracket 9 is thicker-walled. The upper limb, which has the pointing-out lug lying over it in the region of the U-web, is bevelled on the end side, so that a slope which drops towards the supporting edge 19 resting in front of it is formed. This slope, together with the end edge, which is bevelled in the opposite direction, of the supporting edge 19 forms a V-notch.
  • The hanging section R′, formed by the moving part b, as seen in cross section, is angular, more specifically L-shaped. The longer L-limb forms the [0055] horizontal limb 43. The shorter L-limb ends flush with the lower side of the fixed part a resting on it.
  • FIG. 12 shows the fitting of the hanging frame R therein and of the longitudinal-side hanging sections R′. On the left-hand side, the maximum opening width of the hanging frame R is set, while on the right-hand side an intermediate position is established. All that remains is to fix the adjustment devices. This is done by means of an [0056] attachment element 45. It may be a screw. This starts from the lower side of the horizontal limb of the longitudinal attachment bracket 9, which has a drilled hole through which the rivet 24 explained above has been introduced.
  • The attachment recess, which lies virtually congruently with respect to the drilled hole, for the [0057] attachment element 45 bears the reference numeral 46. It is a blind hole which crosses the horizontal groove 44 and ends at a medium thickness of the upper limb of the fixed part a. When the attachment element 45 is introduced, the position is fixed. The horizontal limb 43 of the moving part b or hanging section R1 can, of course, be penetrated, in practice acting as a nut produced by self-tapping threads.
  • The [0058] longitudinal attachment brackets 9, forming a bearing, may also be disposed inside the end plates 10, 11, in which case simply the vertical limb of the bracket is used as a flange which can be connected frontally for example to the trim, i.e. front end panel 10. The attachment to the rear end panel 11 is to be made accordingly. Between them, the hanging frame R is supported peripherally.
