JOSEPH FREY, OF BATTLE CREEK, MICHIGAN.
IMPROVEMENT IN SEEDlNG-MACHINES.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JOSEPH FREY, of the village of Battle Creek, in the county of Calhoun and State of Michigan, have invented a new and useful Machine for Sowing Grass- Seed; and Ido hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the construction and operation of the same, reference being had to the annexed drawings, making a part of this specification, in which- Figure 1 is a perspective view of the machine; Fig. 2, asection of the screw with double thread, coarse andfine alternately; Fig. 3, the perforated bottom of the seed-hopper.
a a represent the screw in bottom of seedhopper; b, oscillating hand-lever attached'to screw; 0., eccentric pivotin the end of the screw, and upon which it oscillates, the screw being so adjusted in the bottom of the seed-hopper that when the oscillating hand-lever is perpendicular to the plane of the perforated bot tom the holes will be closed by the fine threads
