IMPROVEMENT IN PRESSED WOODEN DISHES.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 196,005, dated October 9, 1677; application tiled June 26, 1877.
To all whom it may coneern:
Be it known that I, GEORGE GARDNER, of New York city, in the county and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Pressed Voodcn Dishes; and I do hereby declare that the tollowing is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, which will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being bad to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon, which form apart of this specification, and in which Figure 1 is a perspective view of my improved plate or dish, and Fig. 2 is a vertical section of the same.

This invention relates to a certain improve ment in plates or dishes, the object of which is to provide a cheap plate or dish for tempo-f rary or other use; and it consists of a plate or dish pressed from one or more thin pieces of wood, substantially as hereinafter more fully set forth.
In the annexed drawing, A refers to a plate or dish pressed or stamped from one or more thin pieces of wood.
This invention furnishes a cheap plate or dish, which, among other uses, is very desirablc for outdoor purposes, such as excursions, pienies, and other temporarv purposes, because of its exceeding cheapness, so that it broken or lost it can be replaced at a trifling cost. It has also been found to be very useful as a pie-plate.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters latent, is-
As anew article of manufacture, a wooden dish or plate composed of one or more veneers of wood pressed into the desired shape, substantiall as and for the purpose set forth.
