This inventionalso consists in certain other features of construction and inthecombination and arrangement of the several parts to be hereinafter fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawings and specifically pointed out in the appended claim.

In describing the invention in detail, reference will be had to the accompanaying drawings wherein like parts designate like or corresponding parts throughout the several views, and in which:' 7

In these drawings, the'numeral 1 indicates a frame and the numeral 2 indicates a transparent member placed in the frame. This transparent member is painted or otherwise treated to-indicate the sky and clouds as shown at 3 and the landscape is shown generally at 4 andalso with the outline of a house or other structure as shown at 5. The drawings show the outlines 5 as including lines 6 indicating outlines of the shingles of the roof and the lines 7 indicating the weather-boarding and other-lines 8 indicating windows and doors, porches and the like. The sashes are also indicated on the transparent member with the upper portions preferably painted green as shown at 9 to indicate that a green shade is located in rear of the upper part of the sash and the lower parts are painted black as shown at 10.

The blind outlines'are shown atll and are not colored. A metal backing plate 12 is'placed'in the frame in rear of the transparent member and has a cut-out therein as; indicated at 13in dotted lines in Fig. 2 to correspond to'the outside lines 69 of the representation of the house. A card 14 having the cut cuts 15 therein is'ad'apted to be placed over the backingplate andto partly cover the cut-out 13 and this card is so shaped that its cut-outs 15 will conform to the windows and 66 2' sashes and the window trimming as well as a portion of'theporch roof, the doorand portions of the lower part of the porch as shown in Fig. 8. A roof card -16 is also placed on the backing plate and covers the roof forming portion of the i cut-out l3, and acts' to color the roof part of the representation of the-house while the-cardl4 acts tocolor the body of the house if a colored 7 card 14 is used. A card 17 is placed in rear of the card 14 so that portions of this card 17 will appear thru .the cut-outs 15 and thus portions of this card 1'7 will act to color the blinds, the win-. dow trimmings, porch roof and portions of thedoor and porch.

Thus it will be seen by substituting cards of 0 different colors for the

Thus itlwill be seen thatI have provided a simple form of device whereby a customer for paint and the like can'readily be shown how a house or other structure will appear when painted ,with difierent combinations of paints, and the shingles or other sidings can be placed on the transparent member instead of the lines '7', and

instead of placing the markings 0n the transparent member they may be made on the cards, and the markings when made on the transparent vmember will be made in any suitable manner.

7 It is thought fromthe foregoing descriptionthat the advantages and novel features of the invention will be readily apparent.

It is to be understood that changes may be made in'the construction and in thecombination and arrangement of the several parts provided that such changes fall within the scope of the appended claim.

Having thus described my invention, what I slain? as new is:'

Adevice of the class described comprising a framaa transparent member in the frame, and having markings thereon indicating portions of a house or other structure, a backing plate in the framein rear of the transparent member and 7 having a cut-out therein conforming to the outline of the structure, a cut-out card placed on the backing andextending over portions of thecut out with itacuti-outs registering with certain marking s on the transparent member, acolored card inrear of the backing and the first-mentioned card, portions or said card appearing "through the out-outs and portions of the other card coloring another part of the structure, guideways on the backing forireceiving the cards, 9. plate in-the guideways and-movably supported thereby, springs in said guideways for pressing the plateand the cards against the transparent member and backing, rearwardly extending tongues on the backing and said plate having slots for receiving the; tongues and supporting mcans for the device. 10
