sig-nor, by direct and mesne assignments, to Fichte! & Sachs A. G., Schweinfurt-on-the- Main,

Frankfort-on-the-Main, Germany 'Application April 7, 1930, serial No. 442,341,
, and in Germany November 9, 1929 z claims. (ci. 19e-11o) and pressure ring or flywheel disc does not reachv its highest value, and that, moreover, a nonuniform wearing 'of the above mentioned parts c The object of the present invention is to equalize the pressures exerted on the pressure levers by the arrangement of a movable abutment for the pressure levers, so that the disadvantages described above are avoided. The abutment -at the same time serves to -make it possible to adjust the pressure levers against the coupling discs according to their wear.
The accompanying .drawing illustrates a constructional form of the invention by means of a cross section in the vertical plane of symmetry of a two-disc coupling for power driven vehicles. v
Between the nywheel disc 1 of the driving motor and the two pressure rings 2. coupling discs 3 are -arranged in a known manner, which are mounted on the shaft 4- to be coupled. The pressure required for coupling is exerted by means of a number of pressure levers 5, which are mounted on the coupling housing 6 and are actuated by a common sleeve 7, upon which a spring 8 presses.
6 the coupling may ner.
According to the present invention the pres-' surelevers 5'are not mounted directly on the housing 6, as has hitherto been customary, but
be disengaged'i'n known manthey rest by means of bearing pins 9 in sockets 10 which are vformed in the pressure equalizing ring 11. The inner surface ofthe same is spheriy cal and fits cn the convex spherical outer surface of a ring 12 which'is provided on the projecting nose 13 of the housing, and may be screwed backwards and forwards by means of a screwthread. l
In engaging the coupling the sleeve 7 moves outwards under the pressure of the springs and thereby pulls the longer limbs of the pressure levers A5, so that the pressure levers press on the outer pressure ring 2 with their shorter limbs.
A load is thrown on the pressure equalizing ring 11 by the reaction on the bearings of the pres-f sure levers 5, which ring is displaced on the bearing surface .of the ring 12 until the load is uniscrewed in towards the housing 6 until the presf sure levers 5 again take up their original positions.
What I claim is: i
1. A pressure equalizing device for clutches comprising a clutch casing, a cover plate therefor, pressure levers arranged in the. casing, a pressure equalizing ring arranged exteriorly of the cover plate, bearing `pinslslidably mounted through the cover plate and'to' which the pressure levers are pivoted, sockets on the pressure equalizing ring in initial hwhich the bearing pins rest, and a ring carried by the outer surface of the cover plate and provided with a spherical surface, over which surface the pressure equalizing ring is movable.
2. A pressure equalizing device as claimed in claimv 1 inwhich the ring with a spherical surface is screwed on to the cover platcso as to be adjustable.
