Figure 2 is a fragmentary View of vthe brush and the attachment shown in section, A Figure 3 is a transverse sectional View on g plale indicated by the line 3 3 of Figure Figure 4 is 'an end view of the attachment. In the drawing similar reference characters are used to designate corresponding parts in all of the views. j
A brush handle is shown in Figure 1 and having a head 11 thereon in which are manner.

The attachment is shown in the drawing and is preferably made of rubber or'other yielding material so .that it may be applied to and removed from the brush head 11, said attachment havin a reduced tubular portion 13 to be stretched over said head 11 and to snugly engage it vto hold the attachment in position. Surrounding the base of the bristles 12 are expanded walls '14 forming a receptacle at the base of the 'brush bristles 50 12 to catch drip therefromi when the brush is used with the bristles -12 uppermost, as when painting a ceiling yor the upper portion of a wall or other overhead work. Extending inwardly of the walls 14 are integral flanges 65 15, that, as shown in Figures 2 and 3 incline inwardly of the receptacle and toward the brush bristles thus providing a recess around the walls 14 and between said walls and the 'i -fianges 15 to prevent the paint or other ma- 7 terial that may be 'in the receptacle :from rinning out when the brush is laidv on' its s1 e.
Interiorly of the edges of the langes 15 are rods 16 that are secured in the opposite 5 Y walls of the receptacle, and may be made of a heavy grade of wire or any other suitable material, and designed to support the brush bristles when the brush is laid on itsI 4 side, and also to discharge paint or .other material that may run down the bristles when in such position into the receptacle.
