IMPROVEMENT IN STOVE-FLUE THlMBLE-TILES.

To all whom it may concern.-
v ing, door, or roof through which pipes are to pass. lt can also be used fora ventilator.
A, Figure 1,'is thetile, which I intend to make of a compound of equal parts of fire and common clay. rlhe tilesare to be made one brick long and three bricks thick for a fiveinch pipe, a brick and a half by four bricks for seven-inch pipe, and proportionately larger or smaller for other sizes, avoiding the disadvantage of cutting the brick. B is a flue-hole in the tile; U, stopper to close the ue with when the pipe is absent; D, lock-spur .on the stopper; E, locking-groove in the tiles, into Whichthe lockspur is to be inserted. A partial turn of the stopper t'astens itin, and draws the fiange tightly against the tile, to
prevent the passage of disagreeable matters,
such as smoke, soot, or gases.
The tile can be moldedV in tasteful ornamental styles. y
I claim as my invention- The burned-clay block A, with its stopperhole B and locking-groove E, in combination with the stopper O and its lock-spur D, as and for the purposes herein described.
