This invention relates to attachments for heating receptacles, such as are commonly known as hot water bottles, and has for its objects to provide a simple and con- 6 venient means whereby rubber hot water bot tles, icebags, and like devices may be readily secured in various positions on the human body, so that they will not become displaced.

I accomplish these objects by providing a strip or belt with attaching means for connecting the same to the usual tabs, or like portions at the opposite ends of the bottle, or bag, by means of which it is usually handled or supported, said attaching means being adjustably mounted on the belt, so that they may be readily adapted to various devices of this character, of difi'erent sizes.

For a more complete disclosure of the invention reference is made'to the following specification in connection with the accompanying drawing, in which:

In the drawing 41/. indicates a common form of hot water bottle, which is usually made of sheet rubber and is provided with the usual neck 6, having a flaring mouth, from 5 which a tab 0 extends, said tab usually being provided with an aperture (Z, and a similar tab 6, having an aperture 7, being provided at the opposite end of the bottle.

According to my invention I provide a belt 4 g, which may be of canvas, or other suitable material, and will be provided with any convenient means for adjustably attaching its ends, as the clasp members 72..

I further provide a pair of clips 2' and j,

45 each of which comprises a flat rectangular piece of sheet metal having a pair of parallel slots in therein thru each of which the belt is passed, so that each clip is slidably mounted thereon and is frictionally engaged with the belt, thereby preventing it from being too readily moved from the position to which it may be adjusted. Each clip is also provided with a headed stud m, midway between the slots 72, the diameter of the head of the stud being slightly less than that of the tab apertures (Z, 7", to permit insertion therein.

In applying the belt to the bottle a, the clips 2', j are adjusted to any desired relative position on the belt, in which the distance between the studs on the clips will approximately equal the distance between the tab aperture cl and f, and then said studs will be inserted in said apertures, so that the belt will be connected to the bottle a at each end of the latter and will extend at one side there of between said ends, as shown in Fig. 2.

The bottle is then placed against the portion of the body to which it is to be applied, and then the belt is fastened about the body, so that it is held against the outer side of the bottle and holds the latter closely to the body, as shown in Fig. 1, preventing displacement thereof.

As in some instances the bottle in connection with which the belt is used will not have an apertured car at its neck end. I provide a strap 12 which may be extended about the belt and the bottle neck, so as to hold the neck securely in position on the belt, as shown in Fig.

5, and indicated in dotted lines in Fig. 1. $0 This strap may conveniently be of elastic material and may have a clasp for connecting its ends, as shown, or its ends may be permanently connected, and it may also be secured to the belt in a convenient position, or may be made adjustable thereon. It will ordinarily be employed only when the bottle neck is not provided with an apertured tab, but when employed provides an additional securing means and prevents accidental disconnection.

I claim:

A device of the kind described comprising a flexible elongated heat-transfer receptacle with extensions at the ends thereof, a flexible belt extending lengthwise over the body of said receptacle, and securing devices engaging the rece tacle extensions detaehably and the belt ad ustahly, for holding the receptacle in adjusted extension with respect to the belt, whereby the belt is adapted to press a greater or less extent of the receptacle at will uniformly and evenly upon the body surface to be treated.
