Description
Dec. 26, 1932. A. e. HILDEBRAND EJECTOR PACKAGE Filed July 19, 1930 INVENTOR ATTORNEY 15111111"IlIEiI 1 g T WITNESS;
Patented Dec. 20, 1932 UNITED STATES AXEL G. HILDEBRAND, F BROOKLYN, NEW YORK EJ'EGTOR PACKAGE Application filed July 19,
a single tablet being easily removed withoutin anyways interfering with the remaining tablets, which shall be cheap in manufacture,
positive in action, easily refilled and which 0 shall be practically dust and moisture proof so that the contents are retainedin a sanitary condition and without liability of undue deterioration. Y
To the attainment of the foregoing the invention consists in the improvement hereinafter described'and definitely claimed.
In the drawing:
Figure 1 is a perspective view of one form of the improvement.
Figure 2 is an approximately central transverse sectional view therethrough.
Figure 3 is a somewhat enlarged sectional view approximately on the line 33 of Figure 2.
Figure 4 is a similar sectional viewthrough a slight modification with the ejector removed. 1
Figure 5 is a side elevation thereof.
Figure 6 is an edge view with the parts constituting the case separated.
The improvement is preferably constructed of metal but, of course, may be of other material. The device comprises a substantially cylindrical body 1 that is formed with r a mouth extension. The sides of the mouth extension are parallel with the sides of the body and the end walls of the mouth are inwardly rounded,.as at 2.
The cylindrical body- 1, as well as the mouth of the improvement is formed of two parts, the body portions of the improvement being fluted to provide an interengaging tongue 3 and agroove 4. The section of the body formed with the tongue 3 is extended therebeyond so that the edge of the said section will contact with the inner face or side of the cooperating section.
The sides of the mouth portion of the body are preferably bulged outwardly at diametrically opposed corners to receive therein 1930'. Serial No. 269,170.
trunnions 5 that are centrally formed upon the sides of a disc or wheel that provides the ejector 6. The ejector maybe made in two parts if desired and the ejector is peripherally provided with diametrically opposed notches'Z'; The mouth portion of the device may be spread to remove the ejector 6 therefrom, for the filling or refilling of the body but preferably a single medical tablet 8 is received in each of the notches as the ejector is turned on its trunnions so that the body is thus filled with the tablets. The turning of theejecto-r after the body is filled with medical tablets such tablets will be singly dey livered from the body. a i In Figures 4, 5 and 6 of the drawing the device is slightly modified. The body is of cylindrical formation and is constructed oftwo parts-or sections. One of the sections 9 has its-open edge formed with an offset extension 10 to receive therein an annular flange 12 formed on the open edge of the second body section 13. From the rounded portion the sections 9 and 13 have their sides extended and theirvedges formed with concaved extensions 14. When the sections are assembled the flange 12 is received over the flange 10 and the flange 10 is then bent over the flangelQ. Thus the sections 9 and 13 are connected together by an interengaging tongue and groove. The sides of the'mouth have diametrically opposed outwardly bulged portions 15 and the said sides from their outer edges are formed with depressions 16 that communicate with the outwardly bulged por tions 15. The depressions serve as guides for the trunnions 17 for the discejector 18, the latter being provided with opposed notches similar to those in the ejector 6. By this construct-ion the mouth may have its sides sprung away from each other so that the ejector can be readily removed'therefrom when fillingthe bottle and likewise thetrunnions of the ejector'can easily pass through the guide depressions and be received in the outwardly bulged portions or sockets '15. In both instances the major portion of the ejector is received in the mouth of the body so that the projecting portion thereof can be readily gripped by the finger of the operator and turned to singly eject the medical tablets 8 as disclosed by Figure 1 of the draw- It is thought the foregoing description Whenread in connection with the accompanying drawing will fully and clearly set forth the construction and advantages of the improvement to those skilled in the art so that further description Will not be required. It will be noted that the device is of a size so that the same can be easily and conveniently carried in the pocket of the user, that the device provides no sharpened edges Which injure the users pocket; that the ejector fully covers the mouth of the body and consequently the tablets areretained in a sanitary condition and are practically proof against dust or moisture. 7
Having described the invention, I claim:
A tablet container comprising a cylindrical body consisting of side sections having flanges adapted to overlap and frictionally engage each other, said sections being substantially the same shape and dimensions, the body being provided at one side edge With anarcuate mouth having side depressions, a disk journaled concentrically in said mouth and provided with peripheral notches and having side projections entering said depressions, a peripheral portion of the disk entering the body of the container and a peripheral portion of the disk being disposed beyond the edge of the mouth.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature.
AXEL G. HILDEBRAND.
