Another object of the invention is the provision of novel means for making the container, which will provide a. cheap and strong article, Within which toothpicks may be packed for sale and from which they may be singly removed for use.
With the above and other objects in view, the invention further includes the following novel features and details of construction, to be hereinafter more fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawings and pointed out in the appended claim.

Referring to the drawings in detail Wherein like characters of reference denote corresponding parts, the invention as shown comprises a cylindrical container which is formed of an outer cylindrical Wall 11 and an inner cylindrical wall 12 so that the. container which is provided with Walls of double forations 16.

The heads 14 and 15 are held against the shoulders 13 by means of retaining rings 16a which are arranged Within the ends of the outer Wall 11. A protecting disk 17 is positioned over the perforated head 15 and is removably held in place, preferably by frictional contact of its edges with the retaining ring. Y
The toothpicks are put up in the containers for sale,the protecting disk 17 remaining in place untiln the toothpicks are to be used. `The disk 17 may then be readily removed through the medium of the finger piece 18, Which is struck from the disk. By slightly tilting the container as shown in Figure 3, one or more of the toothpicks will be partially projected through the openings 16. One of the toothpicks may be Withdrawn, While the remaining toothpicks will return to their original positions Within-the container when the latter is returned to a vertical position.-
As previously stated, the container may be made of relatively thin material and yet provide a strong and durable container for the purpose intended. To accomplish this the container is made of a pair of blanks A. and B. These blanks have their longitudinal edges l andb parallel While their transverse edges a and b are inclined so as to provide acute angular corners a2 and b2 and obtuse angular corners a3 and b3 at opposite ends of the blanks A and B res ectively. The -Width ofthe blank B is slightly less than the Width of the blank A as clearly shown in Figure 6 of the drawings, and the blank -B is secured upon the blank A with the corners a2 and a3 arranged 55 tioned against these shoulders are heads 14 y .approximately central of the length of the projections bf* which extend from the edges/'' b of the blank B. The projections b* have their outer edges iiush with the edges a of the blank A.
5- After being attached inthe manner described and shown in Figure 6 o-the drawinfrs, the blanks are shaped to provide a cy inder'with the inclined edges a and the inclined edges b abutting, the ends of the blanks overlapping one another and being suitably secured together. The projections b4 provide reinforcements for the corners a2 and a3 and prevent these corners from curling, and when the blanks are arranged in cylindrical form, all of the corners of the blank A will meet at these projections. The heads 14 and 15 are positioned against the shoulders 13 as previously described, these 2o shoulders being formed by the edges b of the blank B While the extended edges a of the blank A receive the retaining rings 16a which are formed from a blank C, shown in Figure 7 of the drawings.
The heads 14 and 15 are notched as shown at 19 for the accommodation of the projections 64.
The protecting disk 17 may be, and preferably is, formed of a suitable transparent material. j
The invention is susceptible of various changes in its form, proportions and minor details of construction and the right is herein reserved to make such changes as properly fall Within the scope of the appended claim. Y
Having described the invention what is claimed is i The herein described method of making a container consisting of providing a pair of blanks of flexible material having parallel longitudinal edges and inclined transverse edges defining acute obtuse angles at the corners of said blanks, one of said blanks being of less Width than the other and having relatively offset projections extending from its longitudinal edges, attaching the smaller blank upon the larger one with the angular corners at one end of the latter registering With the approximate centers of the projections and the outer edges of the latter flush with the outer edges of the larger blank, arranging the blanks to provide a cylinder with the inclined edges of the blanks 55 abutting and the ends of each blank overlapping one another, and securing heads in the ends of the cylinder upon shouldersjprovided by the smaller blank.
