This invention relates toimprovements in; limbrest stands','and more particularly to atacle holder so that the" portion ofV the limb being worked on is, disposed directly over a receptacle therein. to catch drippage,
or for holding equipmentand the'like.
A further obj ect of the invention 1s to provide a limb rest stand of the class described which may be adjusted vertically, which may be' swiveled, and which maybe tilted to a desired angle.
A further object of the invention is to provide a limb rest stand which may be manufactured easily and relatively inexpensively, which is extremely convenient in use, which' is strong and durable, and which is welln adapted for the purposes described.
With the above and otherobjects inpview the invention consists of thel improved limb rest stand, and its parts vand combinations as o setV forth in the claims, and allequivalents thereof.

This arrangement-:pre-.l ventsundesired' vertical withdrawal Vof the yoke shank from said postand causes the yoke"v and shank to move vertically withthe post 10 and sleeve 11 when vertical adjustments are made. However, said shank 18 is free to turn or swivel within the post 10. Also, by reason of a pair of opposed notches or recesses 36 formed in the lower flange 37 of the shank 18, said shank may be turned to bring said notches 36 into alinement with the s et screws 13, and then said shank and yoke may be lifted vertically upwardly and be completely removed or withdrawn from the postr10A and associated parts. Y Y
Straddling the upper opposed end portionsof the arms of the yoke 19 is a curved limb rest 21, of saddle-like formation, and its opposed depending arms 22 areadjustablysecured to the arms of the yoke. Extended through one arm and adjacent yoke portion is a bolt or pivot stud 23 having a cotter pin 24 passedthrough its inner end portion.v The otherlimb rest arm and adjacent yoke portion have` extended therethrough an elongated bolt 25A whose shank portion has threadedI thereon a winged nut 26, and between the nut and, the yoke portion, surrounding the bolt shank, is a confinedcoiled spring 27, and the tension of the spring may be varied by` adjusting they nut 26.` The arrangement described permits the 'limb rest 21 to be tilted with respect to the` yoke, and the ease with whichit may be tilted, or its retention in a tilted position, may be controlled by the'nut 26 and spring 27. Y The' lower end portion of the support 7 has wedged into slots therein, a pair of plate members 28v and 29, disposed at right angles to one another and medially crossing eachY otherand having a mortise joint with each other. The projecting end portions of the plate members. 28 and 29have pivotally or hingedly'secured thereto inner end portions of; supporting legs 30, 31, 32 and 33. Saidlegs are of channel formation with theiropen portions faced downwardly, and secured withfv in the outer end portions of the legs are stems of casters 34. The hingeconnections of the legswith respect to the plate members permits the legs to be folded so as to extend longitudinally of the member 7 when they are not in use. for supporting purposes.
The improved limb rest stand is adapted tobe positioned adjacent a chair in which a patient is seated', or other support for the patient. Toadjustthe standy to the proper height the sleeve 11 is grasped and it is turned until: a headed stud 35 projecting laterally from a lower portion of the post 10 is brought into registration with the vertical slot 9 of the tubular support. Then, the post and parts attached thereto maybe raised or loweredewith respect tothe support to the desired height, and the post is retained in the adjusted. position by turning it'and the sleeve tofcausethe stud35 to drop into an adjacent bayonetslot 8. 'The limb rest 21 is then swiveled tothejproper.position. of alinement and tilted to the desired angle and the patients limb is rested thereon and is comfortably supported thereby in a convenient position. The swivel block 15 is turned on the post so as to bring the ring 16 and receptacle carried thereby immediately below the projecting portion of the patients limb.

Fromltheforegoing description it will be seen that the` improved limb rest stand is of simple and novel construction, and is well. adapted',A for the` purposes set forth.

An adjustable stand, comprising a supportin member, a post vertically adjustably carrie thereby, an adjustable limb rest swivelingly mounted about an upper portion of said post, a swivel block rotatably surrounding an upper portion of said post, and a receptacle holding frame member detachably carried Iby said swivel block below the limb rest andprojecting laterally of the post.
5. An adjustable stand, comprising avertical, tubular supporting member having@ plurality of vertically spaced-apart bayonet slots formed therein and an elongated slot connecting all of said bayonet slots, a post extending out of the upper end portion of the supporting member and movable with respect thereto, a lower portion of said post carrying a laterally pro-Y jecting pin movable in said elongated slot and lodgable in any of said bayonet slots for post supporting purposes, an elongated sleeve secured to an upper portion of said post, the upper end portion of said vsleeve being below the upper end portion of the post,
a yoke member swivelingly carried by the upper portion of said post, a limb rest tiltabl carried by said yoke member, a swivel bloc rotatably surrounding the upper portionv of said post and seated on the'top portion of said sleeve, and a receptacle holding frame member detachably carried by said swivel block below the limb rest and projecting lat-V erally of the post.
6. An adjustable stand, comprising a supporting member, a post vertically adjustably carried thereby, a limb rest adj ustably carried by an upper portion of said post, and a receptacle holding frame horizontally and longitudinally adjustably connected with an upper portion of said post below the limb rest.
7 An adjustable stand, comprising a vertical supporting member,a post vertically adjustably carried thereby and adapted to be extended with respect to said supporting member, complementary means on the supporting member and post for quickly releasably retaining the post in an extended position with respect to the supportin member, a limb rest adjustably and swivelingly carried by an upper portion of the post, a slotted block mounted on an upper portion of the post below the limb rest, and a receptacle holding frame formed with a supporting arm, said supporting arm extending slidably, adjustably into said slotted .block and theV frame being horizontally longitudinally adjustable with respect to the block below said limb rest.
