--This invention relates to improvements in shuttles adapted for cooperation with thread parters and it is the general object of the invention to provide a shuttle carrying means so placed with-respect to the weft delivered by the shuttle as to assist in the action of a thread parter external to the "shuttle.

* From the foregoing it will be seen that I have provided a' very simple form 'of plate or the like on a shuttle to coact with a thread parter, the plate being located very close to the delivery eye of the shuttle and extending so as to insure proper location with respect to the thread to be out. It is to be understood that the weft cutter has a sufficient vertical dimension to engage the weft. It will also be seen in the modified form that the bolt 34 serves not only to hold the shuttle eyein pomore usual form wherein the weft engaging surfaces are stationary with respect to the V shuttle, tension being caused by the characterof surface which contacts with'the weft.
