This invention relates to improvements in folding cribs, and particularly that classrof folding cribs employed for the use of young children.

' The object of the invention is to provide a crib of this kind which'is simplein con: struction, economical to make, and which can be readily folded intola small compact space;

The embodiment of the invention illustrate'd comprises side members generally re ferred to by the reference numerals 1 and each having a post 3 at each of its ends. Ar ranged between the posts of each side andsecured thereto are side anels, one of which is indicated at 4, having inwardly projecting ledges 6 and 7 along their bottom edges on which springs and mattress may be sup-v ported. If desired, the panel 4 may be constructedin two parts, the upper part8 being hinged to the lower part so that it may swing outwardly and downwardly thereon to the, position shown in Figure-2. Latches or other suitable means may be'employedfor looking or securing the movable part .8 in normal closed position.

When in normal position, the end members extend across the end of the crib to meet vertical flanges 12 mounted on the posts of the opposite side of the crib, to which they maybe releasably secured by any suitable means, as by latches 11'. It will be :noted that the end members cooperatewith the sides to form a V substantially rectangular frame. Bods or bars 13 also connect the pivoted-end members with. the flanges 12. Two of these bars or rods are employed with each of the ends, one

adjacent or at the top and'the otherat or adjacent the bottom. Each of the rods 13 is pivoted'at one end to the end member at a pointat or adjacent its middle and at its other end to. the side member 6 or the flange -12 thereon, so that when the end members are swung inwardly on their hinges, as shown in Figure 4, theyoperate to move the sides of the crib toward each other, and when-the 7 ends are moved into contact with the side '1,

With cribs of this kind, it is desirable that a top or cover be providedwhich can be moved into the plane of the sides when the crib is folded, To this end, a top 15 is proposition'resting on the top edges of the sides of the crib," and projecting laterally over the sides. 'Simple and convenient means are provided for slidably securing the top to the crib and supporting it in suspended position. in contact with one of its sides when the crib is folded.
