DISPLAY STAND Filed Feb. 13, 1931 INVENTOR ATTORNEYS Patented Sept. 20, 1932 NE'IED STATES FERNAND ToURToIs, or NEW YoRx, N. Y., AssreNoiryTo, c o'rY, :1510,03` NEW YORK, N. Y., A CORPORATION 0F DELAWARE DISPLAY STAND Application led February 13, 1931. Serial No. 515,448.
This invention relates to improvements in display stands and more particularly to display stands for bottles.
In this particular embodiment, I have shown a display stand designed for bottles cylindrical in shape, but it is understood that the shape of the bottles and the shape of the stand may be varied without departing from the spirit of my invention.
Further .objects of the invention will be apparent from the specification and drawing in which Fig. 1 is a perspective view of my improved display stand showing a number of bottles held therein with one orifice unoccupied.
Fig. 2 is a plan view of my improved stand.
Fig. 3 is a sectional view along the line 3 3 of Fig. 2.
10 designates the upper half of the stand mounted .on and revoluble on the lower half 11. 12 is the cylindrical portion of the stand in the center thereof. 13 indicates the cylindrical bottle support. 14 indicates the other openings grouped around the central opening 13.
15 indicates the'line of division between the upper and lower half of the stand'. 16 is the upraised portion of the lower half of the stand which is joined to the hub 17 by the screw 18.
The upper portion of the stand 10 is mounted and revoluble on the lower half of the stand 11, the two halves being joined by the screws 18 upon which the uppery half of the stand is pivotally mounted, but it should be noted that the base of the hub 17 does not rest upon the inner cylindrical base 16, but
is held out of contact with the same by thev screw 18 therefore permitting a free movement of the upper portionof the'stand 10 upon and around the lower' half 11. The underside of the member 10 contacts with the upper side of the member 11 as will clearly be seen from Fig. 3.
The preferred embodiment of this display bottle holder and stand is made out of bakelite or a similarfma I terial which has the advantage of offering adjacent surfaces which can be revolved upon each other with practically no friction. It should be noted, however, that I do not restrict myself to this material'.
Having `fully described .my invention, what I claim is:
1. In a display stand for bottles, in combination, a bottle holder having a series of concavities therein and integral therewith for holding the bottles, the central portion of said holder being upraised, Va spindle located on the underside of said upraised portion by which said bottle holder is revoluble, and Va base forv said holder having an upraised portion in the center thereof fitting the upraised portion of the holder, and a screw passing through said base into the spindle on the joining the bottle holder and base.
2. In a display stand for bottles, a bottle i tion having a perforation therein, and a screw connecting said base and bottle holder, the
end of said screw being attached to the spindle on saidbottle holder.
3. In a display stand for bottles, a bottle holder having a series of concavities therein for holding Va seriesl of bottles, said bottle holder having sloping sides and a central upraised portion, a spindle on said bottle holder on the underside of said central upraised portion, a base for said bottle holder having` sloping sides in alignment with the sides. of the bottle holder, a perforation in the center of said base, and a screw connecting the said base and said bottle holder, and attached to the spindle on said bottle holder.
4. In a display stand for bottles, a bottle holder having a series of concavities therein for holding a series of bottles, said bottle holder having sloping sides yand a central up-V raised portion, a spindle on said bottle holder on the underside of said central upraised portion, a base for said bottleholder having sloping sides in alignment With the sides ofv the bottle holder, and a central upraised portion on said base having a perforation therein, anda screw connecting `said bottle holder and said base; i i
In testimony whereof I affix my signature.
FERNAND ToUnToIs.
