MGGAIIGH, F ELK CITY, OKLAHOMA HOSIERY DISPLAY canines Application filed'rehruary 15,1930. S e'rialiNo. 428,699;
in view, the present invention consists of the pecularities of construction, combination and arrangement of parts more fully described, and set forth in the appended claims.
In the drawings:
Figure 1 is an elevational view of the display cabinet looking at the same either from the front or rear, 7
Figure 2 is a side elevational View thereof,
Figure 3 is a horizontal transverse sectional view taken substantially on the line 3-3 and looking downwardly in the direction of the arrows,
Figure 4 is a longitudinal vertical sectional view therethrough,
Figure 5 represents a vertical detail sectional view through a portion of the cabinet showing the display compartments illuminating means therefor.
Figure 6 represents a fragmentary corner elevation of the cabinet at the upper portion of the cabinet.
Referring to the drawings, it will be seen that the invention includes a base 5 a pair of perpendicular side walls 6-6 and a top 7.
' A pair of partitions 8 and 9 separate the cabinet into three main sections. In the sections below the partition 9 is a vertical partition 10 dividing said section into a front and rear compartment. In the section above the partition 9 are the vertical walls 11-1l extend in parallelism to the side walls 6.
A partition 12 connects the said vertical walls 11 and divides the said section into a front and rear compartment. The section above the partition 8 provided with a pair of vertical walls 1313 and a vertical partition 14 connecting the said vertical walls 13 13 beside the last referred to section into front and rear compartments.
In the compartments-oneach side ofthe partition 10 are horizontal shelves 15 connecting the side walls 6. Between thepar-titions 8 and 9 are shelves 1'6 connecting the vertical walls 11*11 on opposite sides ofthe partition 1% In the sections between the partition8 and top 7 and arranged on opposite sides (of the partition 14 are shelves 1'6 connecting the vertical walls 13.- Thus it willbe seen that at the front and rear thereof the cabinet is in duplicate;
Each of the side walls 6 above the p artit ion 9, and above and below the partition Sare provided with transversely, extend'ingopen ings 1'8 =a'nd 1-9 respectively.- The side walls 66 at each end :of the openings18 and '19 are provided with vertically extending slots 20 andinsertable through thes'lots for .c'losing the openings are transparent panels 21. A ,i The space between the panels 21 and adjacent vertical walls respectively provide above and below the partition 8 display com-part ments which :are mounted hosiery covered limbs. llhe panels 21 and respective adja cent vertical walls 11 and T3 constituting side uppermost shelves 16 are drawers "23. Ob-
viously, the drawers 23 may be :used forcontaini-ng VfiL'IlOllSjPELPGIS relativeto the stock ar ranged in 'thecabinet, the nature and amount of sale,- etc.
From the foregoing then it will be appreciated that I have evolved ahosiery display cabinet wherein the several compartments of the cabinet-are easily accessible, the hosiery advantageously displayed, and at thesame time the cabinet being fully capable of such construction as-to provide only ausefulibutate tractive article of store furniture.
Arranged 'in each of the .upperand lower display compartments adjacent-the ,panc1s'2l,
and at the ;upper forward and .rearxends-of f to said compartment are suitably mounted electric light bulbs 24 with which are associated suitable reflectors 25. Suitable electrical connections are provided for supplying current to the bulbs one of the electrical connections 27 being arranged in the base 5, and the other electrical connection 28 being mounted on the top 7. Thus is provided suitable illumination for each of the display compartments for more efiectively displaying the hosiery arranged therein. w
It may be also noted, that the side Walls 66 having the lower portions thereof dis posed between the base 5 and partition 9 suitably panelled as at 29, the panels 29 being preferably of wood.
Even though I have herein shown and deslotted corner post at a corner of each display compartment and through which one of the I glass panels may slide laterally to permit access to the compartment.
- In testimony whereof I affix my signature.
, CALVIN o. MoGAUGH.
scribed the preferred embodiment of my invention, it is to be understood that the same is susceptible to changes fully comprehended by the spirit of the invention as herein de scribed, and the scope of the appended claims.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new is:
1. A hosiery merchandising and display cabinet comprising a base, shelves surmounting the base and open at opposite sides thereof, display compartments above the said shelves located at opposite sides of the cabinet and each enclosed by glass panels arranged at right angles to each other, to expose'theinterior of each compartment from three'sides of the cabinet, each compartment having a height suficient-to accommodate and display afull length stocking form, and additional shelves located between the said display compartments and opening at opposite sides of the cabinet, said shelves being adapted to receive and support boxes of hosiery such as displayed on the forms.
2. A hosiery merchandisingv and display cabinet comprising a base, shelves surmounting the base and open at opposite sides thereof, display compartments above said shelves located at opposite sides of the cabinet and each enclosed by glass panels arranged at right angles to each other, to expose the interior of each compartment from three sides of the cabinet, each compartment having a height suflicient to accommodate and display a full length stocking form, additional shelves located between the said display compartments and opening at opposite sides of the cabinet, said shelves being adapted to re ceive and support boxes of hosiery such as displayed on the forms, and means whereby at least one of the glass panels of each display
