IMPROVEMENT m. TOOLS FOR DRESSING MILLSTONES.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent N 0. 186,491, dated January 23, 1877; application filed J mm 29, 1876.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, MARTIN L. MOWBER, of the city of Dayton, State of Ohio, have invented a Tool for Dressing Millstone-s, of
which the following is a specification My invention consists in forming a frame with a handle, into which is molded corundum, the use being for the purposes of cutting, leveling, facing, and polishing furrows in millstones.
The accompanying drawings are madea part of my specification, in which like letters designate like parts.
Figure 1 is a side elevation of the dressingtool for millstones. Fig. 2 is a transverse section of the same through the center.
7 B represents an iron frame, to the top of which is secured a Wooden handle, A, by means of an iron rod, which passes through of the frame. The shape of the base of the frame is that of an oblong rectangle, the center being open, with the inner edges beveled, as shown at Fig. 2. O is corundum, the particles of which are held together by some adhesive preparation, and is placed within the frame when in a plastic condition, and then becomes hard, and is thus held solidly within the frame. It is-operated by the hand, and is used to dress the face and furrows of millstones.
Oorundum may be attached to other forms of handles for this specific purpose; and what I regard as my invention is the use of cornudum for this particular strued as a hand-tool.
What I claim as my invention is- The frame B, handle A, and corunduin 0, combined to form a hand-tool for dressing millstones, substantially as set forth.
