In orderV to understand `and appreciate the merit and importance of this invention, itshould here be explained fthatcoops must not only be Vstrong and Well made according` to the specifications insisted upon by the carriers, but they must be extremely cheap in price. This! is true to Vsuch an extent that most of the coops must bemanufactured Within a limited radius from the 'point' of use. A coop set up rea-,dy foruselconsumes so much cubicfeet of space that theV freight charge for transporting coops forany con-f siderable distanceV makes the cost excessive.v
Consequently the manufacturers ,equippedV to make the best coops,l although they may' meet local competition, are unabletofship ltheir coops any great distance because of freight tariffs7 with the result that many sections of the country are eitherA equipped With" a very poor grade of coopl or `they must suffer from an excessivecost for coops Ain Which to ship their poultryto the market.`
