This invention relates to curtain support fixtures.
The principal object of this invention is to provide a device of this kind which may be easy of manufacture, eflicient and provide means for holding both a curtain rod and a drape rod from the same fixture.
A further object of this invention is to provide a bracket member formed of a single sheet of metal.
A still further object is to provide a slideably maintained joining member for the curtain rod and drape rod, this curtain rod and drape rod joining member arranged so that it may be slid completely off one section of these rods but is held from coming off the other section.
With the foregoing and other objects in view which will appear as the description proceeds, the invention resides in the combination and arrangement of parts and in the details of construction hereinafter described and claimed, it being understood that changes in the precise embodiment of the invention herein disclosed, can be made within the scope of what is claimed, without departing from the spirit of the invention.
The invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawings, wherein Figure 1 is a top plan view of the bracket member.
Figure 2 is a front elevation of the bracket member.
Figure 3 is a perspective view of a bracket r member plate before being formed into a bracket member.
Figure 4 is a front elevation showing a window casing with one end of curtain support fixture in position carrying curtain rod and drape rod.
Figure 5 is a detail perspective view of the curtain rod shown in Fig. 4.
Figure 6 is a cross section taken online 66 of Fig. 5.
Figure 7 is a detail view of Fig. 5.
By referring to the drawings it will be seen that I have provided a bracket member plate.
By referring to Fig. 3 it will be seen that 1 indicates a bracket member. This bracket member is formed of sheet metal and is rectangular in form before being shaped into a completed bracket. It will also be seen that it has a central rectangular slot 2 and screw holes 3 and 4. This rectangular uncompleted bracket member is now formed providing an upper loop socket 5 and a lower loop socket 6. (See Figs. 1 and 2.)
By referring to Fig. 4 it will be seen that this bracket 1 is supported to a window casso ing by means of screws 7 functioning in the screw holes 3 and 4. The upper loop socket 5 and the lower loop socket 6 function with down-turned ends of a curtain rod 8 and a drape rod 9. It is understood that the curo5 tain rod 8 and the drape rod 9 may be provided with an outward bend carrying the curtains and drapes the desired distance from a window.
By referring to Figs. 4, 5, 6, and 7 it will be seen that there is provided a slidably maintained oining member 10 which is tubular in shape and provided with a collar 11 at each end. It will also be seen that this slidably maintained joining member 10 is provided with a longitudinal slot 12 in which functions a stop lug 13, secured at the end of the curtain rod 8 and the drape rod 9. By referring to Fig. 4 it will be seen that the curtain rod 8' and the drape rod 9' does not carry a stop lug and may be allowed to swing open when the slideable maintained joining member 10 has been slid back. It will be seen that when this is done the curtains and drapes may be, with their supporting parts, swung outwardly by rotating the curtain rod and the drape rod in the upper and lower loop sockets 5 and 6, respectively.
What I claim is In a device of the class described, a rectangular plate provided with a central rectangular slot, a pair of screw holes formed one at an upper outer portion and asecond pair at a lower outer portion and spaced apart, an upper and a lower loop socket formed in said rectangular plate by looping said portions on each side of said rectangular slot for the purpose of supporting a curtain and drape rod, substantially described as set forth.
