My invention relates to boxes and particularly to boxes constructed of sheet material such as fiberboard, pasteboard or the like, and has for its object to provide a box which may be formed from a single-sheet of material.
An object of the invention resides in constructing the box so as to form the same substantially without waste of material.
Another object of the invention resides in forming the box with end members adapted to overlie the ends of the box and reinforce the same, which end members issue outwardly from the sides of the box.
Another object of the invention resides in constructing said end members of a length such that the complemental end members of adjoining sides meet one another intermediate the sides of the box when folded into the planes of the ends of the box.
A still further object of the invention resides informing the box with flaps issuing outwardly from said sides along the upper edges thereof, said flaps being adapted to meet intermediate the sides of the box to form a closure for the box.
Another object of the invention resides in forming said end members with auxiliary flaps extending outwardly therefrom in the same direction as said first named flaps and adapted to be folded inco-planer relation with respect to said first named flaps, said auxiliary flaps and end members joining one another along a line intermediate the sides of the box.
A feature of the invention resides in forming the flaps and end members in such a manner that the line of joinder of said auxiliary flaps and end members are offset from the line along which the edges of said first named flaps meet.
An object of the invention resides in scorinner longitudinal lines from the transverse .lines'to the edge of the blank, and in cutting the blank along the transverse lines from the outer longitudinal lines to the edge of the blank to form the bottom, sides, and flaps of the box.
Other objects of the invention reside in the novel combination and arrangement of parts and in the details of construction hereinafter illustrated and/or described.

Fig. 1 is a developed view of the formed 1 blank from which the box is constructed.
Fig. 2 is a perspective view of the box partially erected.
Fig. 3 is a sectional perspective view illustrating the box in closed position.
My improved box is formed from a blank indicated in its entirety at in Fig. 1 which is constructed of some suitable sheet material such as cardboard, pasteboard, or the like.
The size of the blank 10 depends upon the particular dimensions of the box and the relation of the height, width and length thereof.
The blank usedfor constructing the box shown in Figs. 2 and 3 is scored along two inner parallel longitudinal lines 11 and 12 and along two outer longitudinal lines 13 and 14 parallel with one another and the lines 11 and 12. The blank is further scored along two transverse lines 15 and 16, all of which lines extend completely across the entire blank. By means of these score linesthe blank is divided into a bottom 17, two ends 18 and 19, and two sides 20 and 21 which are hingedly connected to the bottom 17 along the score lines 11, 12, 15 and 16. The blank 10 is cut with a number of longitudinal cuts- 22, 23, 24, and 25 which extend along the score marks 11 and 12 from the transverse score lines 15 and 16 to the marginal edges 25 and 26 of the blank proper. -The blank 10 is further formed with cuts 27, 28, 29 and 30 whichare disposed along the score marks 15 and 16 and extend from the score marks 13 and 14 to the edges 31 and 32 of the blank. These various cuts together with the score marks aforementioned form along the upper edges of the sides 20 and 21, tabs 33 and 34. The tabs 33 and 34 are of a width such that the same just meet one another along a line 47 (Fig. 3)- when folded along the score marks 13 and 14 to form the closure for the flaps formed on said end members and adapted to be disposed in co-planer relation with respect to said first named flaps when said flaps are folded into closing position, said second named flaps meeting one another intermediate the sides of said box, said auxiliary flaps and said first named flaps being constructed of different widths to cause the same to meet along lines ofiset from one another when the flaps are folded into closing position.

A box formed of a single sheet of material comprising a bottom, sides and ends extending outwardly from said bottom, end members bent outwardly from said sides and adapted to overlie the ends of said box, corresponding end members meeting one another along a line intermediate thesides'of the box, flaps formed on said sides and adapted to be folded to close the box, auxiliary flaps formed on said end members and adapted to be folded into'co-planer relation with respect to said first named flaps, the flaps on adjoining end members joining one another along a line intermediate the sides of the box.
5. A box formed of a single sheet of material comprising a bottom, end members bent outwardly from said bottom, end members bent outwardly from said sides and adapted to overlie the ends of said box, corresponding end members meeting one another along a line intermediate the sides of the box, flaps formed on said sides and adapted to be folded to close the box, auxiliary flaps formed on said end members and adapted to be jointly folded into co-planer relation with respect to said first'named flaps, the flaps on adjoining end members joining one another along a line intermediate the sides of the box, said first named flaps being adapted to meet one another along a line intermediate the sides of said box and offset from the line of joinder of said auxiliary flaps.

A box formed from a blank constructedof a single sheet of material scored along inner and outer longitudinal lines and transverse lines to form a bottom, sides and ends issuing outwardly therefrom, the blankbeing severed along said inner longitudinal lines from the transverse lines to the edge of the blank and being further severed along the transverse lines between the outer longitudisuch as to bring adjoining endmembers and v the auxiliary flaps formed thereon together when the end members are folded in a manner to overlie the ends of .the box.
7. A box formed from a blank having two outer longitudinal scorev lines and twomter mediate longitudinal score lines dividing the blank into a bottom, sides and top flaps and having two transverse score lines dividing the blank further into ends, end flaps and auxiliary flaps, said blank'being slit along the intermediate longitudinal score lines from the edges of the blank inwardly up to the transverse score lines to separate the ends from the end flaps, said blank being further slit along said transverse score lines from the edges of the blank inwardly up to the outer longitudinal score lines to separate the auxiliary flaps from the top flaps, said box being foldable to bring the end flaps in overlying position with respect to the end members-of the box and. said auxiliary flaps, said box being further foldable to bring the top fia s into the plane of the top of the box and t e auxiliary flaps in underlying position with respect to the top flaps.

A box formed of a single sheet of material, comprising a bottom and sides integrally connected together, an end structure comprising a portion integrally connected with said bottom and portions integrally connected with said sides, said box further comprising top flaps integral with the sides and auxiliary flaps integral with said end structure and adapted to underlie said top fla s to form in conjunction therewith a closure or the box. 9. A box formed of a single sheet of material comprising a bottom and sides integrally connected together, ends extending outward- 1 from said bottom and integral therewith, aps extending outwardly from said sides to form a closure for the box, end members extending outwardly from said sides for attachment to the ends of said box to form end structures for the box, and an auxiliary flap. formed on one of the parts of one of said end structures, and adapted to be disposed in coplaner relation with respect to said closure when said first named flaps are folded into closing position. 7 10. A box formed of a single sheet of material comprising a bottom and sides integrally connected together, ends extending outwardly from said bottom and integral therewith, flaps extending outwardly from said sides to form a closure for the box, end members extending outwardly from said sides for attachment to the ends of said box to. form end structures for the box, and auxiliary flaps formed on corresponding, parts of said end structures and adapted to be disposed in coplaner relation with respect to said first named flaps when said flaps are folded into closing position.
