My present invention relates to improvements in shirtsof that type that is to as a stag shirt, that is to be worn invplace of a coat,- jacket or blouse and in which the skirt part is usually worn outside the trousers.

My invention is particularly adapted for use among'hunters. It is a well known fact a that most hunting takes place'during cool or V 1 cold-weather, and for the'proper handling ofa rifie'or shct-gunit is inconvenient to have" gloves on the hands for the best results. 1 have therefore proposed in my shirt, to place a pocket: across the front of the shirt overthe abdomenrand place pocket slits at a convenient angle to allow the hands to lie-slipped into the pocket where they can be clasped for warmth and be protected from the Wind and cold. - Asa means for holding the pocket section 17 to the shirt proper I provide a snap fastener in which 21 is the head or female portion and 22 the male portion so that the user may have his choice in either fastening or having a loose, free pocket. The pocket is preferably stitched to the front lower portion of the shirt by stitching l8 and 19.

In some instances I have found it desirable to provide a line of stitching as 23 of Figure 3, extending from the bottom of the ocket upward for several inches and central of the ends of the pocket to provide a division so that desired objects such as shells of different loads may be maintained therein and be readily accessible for use on demand.

In Figure 5 I have shown two lines of stitching24 and 25 which provide an extra sectionfor the carrying of small objects that are to be divided from each other;

While the pocket herein shown is made of the usual goods out of which these shirts are manufactured, I have in mind in. special cases such as in extremely cold country, to 40 provide a lining of wool or fur or other suitable material that may be incorporated with the pocket or which may be removable and secured by suitable fasteners so that it can be taken out during that time of the year when '46 its bulk would be undesirable.

In use, the pocket that I have provided acts as a muff to protect the hands against inclement weather, yet allows them to be readily withdrawn and free for any purpose desirable. Usefulness of the garment with the I pockets so provided is expected to be quite extensive as it will apply to all outside workers who desire freedom in their clothing and whose eiliciency is at its best when they are comfortable and have means whereby they 120 can maintain their hands warm under all kinds of weather. For school children and for use in various 7 sports my design will be found to be highly useful.
