IMPROVEMENT IN PORTABLE sTooLs.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 185,028, dated December 5, 1876; application filed March 9, 1876.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, CORNELIUS E. HAYNEs, of Boston, in the county ofSufl'olk and State of Massachusetts, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Portable Stools, of which the following, taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, is a specification:
The object of my invention is to produce a portable stool or bench, for supporting washtubs, &c., which shall be light, strong, and compact, being applicable for easy convey ance, and which can be manufactured at a small expense.
I hereby declare that the following is a clear and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part of this specification.

A is a bench or table-top, having formed in its upper surface a series ot'circular grooves, (in a a, of diameters to fit different sizes of washtubs. D is a long hasp, attached by a staple and eye at one end to the under side of the top A, and provided with a hook at its other end, to engage with the staplef, also set in the under side of the top A, said hasp being used to hold the legs 0 G in position when folded, as shown in Fig. 3.
' Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent J 1. A stool or table having a series of corrugations, a a, a, formed on the upper surface, and having short legs B, provided with ferrules b, staples c, in combination with legs 0, provided with metal sockets d d and slots 0, substantially as shown and described.
