Description

E. L. & T. W. MOORE.
CAMP-STOOL. No. 184,721. Paltented Nov.28,1876'.
@ I 2 mvmon: BMW
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
ELRIO L. MOORE AND THOMAS W. MOORE, OF PLAINFIELD, NEW JERSEY.
IMPROVEMENT IN CAMP-STOOLS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 184,721, dated November 28, 1876; application filed April 18, 1676.
1' 0 all whom it may concern:
Be it known that we, ELRIG L. MOORE and THOMAS W. MOORE, of Plainfield, in the county of Union and State of New Jersey, have invented a new and Improved Camp- Stool, of which the following is a specification:
Our invention consists of a folding chair or camp-stool with a cord or strap for slinging it from the shoulder attached to it, for carrying it about when the stool is in a folded condition, and the cord has a knot in one end and a hook in the other, for conveniently fastening it across the chest.
Figure l is a perspective view of our improvement in position for use. Fig. 2 is an elevation of it as when suspended for carrying.
A represents the legs, and B the canvas top,-
. the hand, or by slinging it from the shoulder;
and for convenience in connecting the cord around the shoulder and breast we make the cord with a knot, E, in one end, and the hook F in the other.- To connect and disconnect the cord a loop may be used instead of a knot. The hook springs on the cord, so as to retain its hold when connected.
Having thus described our invention, what we claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
1. A folding chair or stool, having eyes or loops on its legs to receive a cord or strap for holding and suspending it thereby, for the purpose of carrying it more conveniently, substantially as specified.
' 2. The combination, with a folding stool or chair, of a cord or strap strung in the top, and having a knot or loop in one end and a hook in the other, substantially as specified.
