ROSA PIEPENBRING, OF CINCINNATI, OHLO.
IMPROVEMENT IN CORSETS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. [84,423, dated November 14, 1876; application liled September 26, 1876.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ROSA PIEPENBRING, of Cincinnati, inthe county of Hamiltonand vState of Ohio, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Corsets, of 'which the following is a specification:
My invention relates to corsets; and the nature of it consists in cutting the front sides padding is dispensed with.
In the annexed drawing, Figure l is a perspective view of the front of my corset, and Fig. 2 is a perspective view of the back or rear of the same.
In the drawing', A Al are the front pieces of the corset. B B are the gores at the sides and bottom, extending to the waist and lower part of the gores O C', and so cut as to tvperfectly over the hips. C C' are gores extending from the top of the corset to the waist, and so cut as to conform to the gores D F. D D' and F F are gores, cut as shown in the drawing, and joined together by the straight pieces E E', and, when joined to the pieces A A and gores C C', forming a perfect bust,
held in shape and form by the springs a b e e e, thus dispensing with the use of pads or padding, and, in conjunction with the gores B B and C CQ,- forming a perfectly-fitting corset. G G and H EI are springs, supporting andV stiffening the pieces A A and gores B B and C C. I, J ,and K are pieces forming the back pf the corset, and supported by the springs M M N N.
Havingthns described my invention, what Iclaim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
1. The gores D and F, the piece E, and springs a b c e e, in combination with the piece A and gore C, to form a perfect bust, substantially as and for the purpose specified.
2.-The gores B C D F, the piece E, and springs a b e e e, in combination with the pieces A I J K and springs Gr H M N, when arranged substantially as and for the purpose set forth. i
