The present invention relates-to` a s terilizer fortools and the like used by barbers and has for its prime object toprovide an enceedingly i simple apparatus of this nature which may be 4manufactured at a low cost, is strong and durable, thoroughly eicient and reliable 1n use and operation, compact and convenient and otherwise well adapted for-the" purpose for which it is designed. f Y
With the above and numerous other objects in view as will appear as the description proceeds,V the invention resides certain vnovel features of construction, and `1n combination and arrangement of'parts as Awill claimed.
15 bezihereinafter more fullydescrfibed and v :inl the drawings f Fi p re 1 is a top plan view oftheglevice embodying the features of my invention.
I Figure 2 is a longitudinalvertical section therethrough. Figures 3 and 4 are vertical transverse sections taken substantially on the lines 3--3 and 4 4, respectively, of Figure 1.
Figure 5 is a detail sectional view. taken substantially on the line 5-5 of Figure 1. Referring to the drawings in detail 1t will be seen that the numeral 5 denotes an oblong container having a top formed across one en so thereof as is indicatedat 6. A cover 7 isdisposed across the remaining portions of the container and is hingedly mounted as is in dicated at 8 on one side wall. A tray 9 is formed with a perforated bottom 10 and rests on brackets 11 and a riser 12 in the container 5 to be normally disposed a distance below the lid 7. The riser 12 is of an inverted!)- shaped formation having a straight cross member under which extend cli s 14 mounted on the bottom of one end of t e tray 9. A chain 15 is engaged with the lid 7 and the other end of the tray 9 so that when the lid 7 is swung to an open position the chain will pickl up thelast mentioned end of the tray top of the container so that combs, brushes and the like in the tra may be easily removed therefrom or placedt erein.
In ,order to easil operate the lid I provide a lever 16 pivotal y mounted on one endof receiving shears.
the container and havindg a link 17 pivotally engaged therewith an ivotally engaged with the lid 7 as is indica at 18. It will therefore, be seen that when the free end oi the lever is depressed the lid is swung to an open position and the tray position. c
Elongated transverse slots. 20 are formed in the top from the side edges thereof with "a slantin bottom 24 carried thereby so that razors an the likemay be inserted through the slot to rest. on the bottom24 and dipped in the sterilizing iuid. Aprons 23 depend from openings 22 in the top 6for the purpose of lAnother opemng 25 is formed on the top and has a cross member 26 so that tweezers may befsuspended therefrom through the opening.
It is thought that the,l construction, utility, operation and advantages of this invention will now be quite apparent to those skilled in this art without a more detailed description thereof.
The present embodiment of the invention has been described in considerable detail merely for the purpose of exempliiication -since in actual practice it attains the features of advantages enumerated as desirable 1n the statement of the invention and the above description. It will be apparent that changes in the details of construction, in the raised to its tiltedv (and have walls 21 depending c combination and arrangement of parts may be resorted to without departing from the.
spirit and scope of the invention as hereinafter claimed or sacrificing any of its advantages.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new is l 1. In a sterilizing apparatus of the class described, a container, an inverted U-shaped member rising from the bottom of the container, a tray, spring clips on one end of the bottom of the tray and engaged with the cross portion of the member, brackets in the contalner for supportin the other end of the tray, a lid on the container, a connecting the lid with the tray remote from the clips, means for swinging the lid to an open position, vsaid lid covering only a portion of i the container, a top across the other portion ofthe container, said top having elongated slots therein, a substantially triangular sha edY `late depending from each side wall n .tainer, a tray, spring clips on one end of the bottom of the tray and engaged with the cross portion`of the member, brackets in the container for lsupporting the other end of the tray, a lid on t e container, a chain connecting the lid with the tray remote from the clips, means for swinging the lid to an open position, said lid covering only a portion of the container, a top across the other portion of the container, said top having elongated slots therein extending transversely, a substantially V-shaped late depending from each side wall of eac slot, a bottom forming plate connected tothe lower edges `of each pair of ilatcs with the upper end of the bottom orming plate connected to an end and removabl connecting the tray with the cross bar an a flexible member connecting that end 'of the tray which engages the bracket with the lid whereby when the lid is raised said'end of the tray will be lifted o the bracket 5. In a sterilizer includin a casing having a to rt, said top art aving `an elongate s ot therein, afsu tantially triangular shaped plate having one edge connected with each si e YWall of the slot and depending therefrom, and a bottom forming plate connected to the lower edgesl of the two plates and havin its upper edge connected'to an end, wall o the slot.
