EELS, OF LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA KEY CASE Application filed April 13,
This invention relates to a key case, the general object of the invention being to provide a foldable case having a sliding member therein which is provided with a hook for holding keys in such a manner that a key thereon can be placed in various positions to facilitate the manipulation of each key in a lock and to permitone of the keys to project from the case when the case is folded about 1 the other key, with a keeper member attached views, and in which Figure 1 is a perspective view of the case in its folded position and with the keys therem.
Fig. 2 is a view showing the casing in open position with the keys removed therefrom.
Fig. 3 is a longitudinal sectional view through the folded case and showing the keys therein in dotted lines.
In these views, the letter A indicates the case which is formed of leather or other suitable material and is provided with a major part 1, a part 2 which is adapted to be folded over the part 1, and the flap 3 on the outer edge of the major part 1 which is adapted to be folded over upon the outer face of the part 2, the parts being retained in folded position by the snap fastener parts 4L and 5, one of which is on the flap 3 and the other on the part 2. j
A fiat bar 6 is slidably supported on the inn-er face of the part 1 by the clips 7 and this bar 6 is bent at each end to form the hook 8. I V
The keys B are placed on the hooks 8 and due to the straight bight portions of the 'I claim as new is:

hooks, the keys can be placed in various positions, so as to facilitate the placing of the key in the keyhole of a lock and by having the hooks adjacent the ends of the case, one
key can project from the case while the through the clips 9 on the inner face of the part 2, so that the keys are securely attached to the hooked ends of the bar 6 as shown in dotted lines in Fig. 3 and in full lines in Fig. 1.
When it is desired to-use one of the keys, it is simply necessary to detach the fastener part 4 from the part 5 and open the flap and then the desired key can be swung outwardly until it projects from the end of the case so that it canvbe used.
Of course, when a key is to be entirely removed from the device or is to be placed thereon, the bar 6 must be moved to a position where it will disengage the clip 9 on the part 2.
If desired, the hooked portions 8 may be made separately and each attached to the part 1 by a pin and slot connection.
It is thought from the foregoingdescription that the advantages and novel features of the invention will be readily apparent.
It is to be understood that changes may be made in the construction and in the com bination and arrangement of the several parts, provided that such changes fall within the scope of the appended claims.
Having thus described my invention, what the other portion for receiving the ends of the hooks when the bar is moved longitudinally whereby keys will be retained on the bight portion of the hooks, and the flap can be opened to permit a key to be used.
2. A key case comprising a member formed of flexible material and consisting of two parts foldably connected together, a flap on one part, means for detachably connecting the flap to the other part, a hook slidably connected to the flap carrying part at one end thereof, the bight of which is adapted to receive keys, and a keeper member on the inner face of said second part for receiving (the end of the hook for holding keys on the hook.
In testimony whereof I afiix my signature.
THEODORE KAHN.
