This invention relates to new and useful improvements in reshaping devices forties.
The invention has for an object the provision of a reshaping device for ties which is characterized by a pair ofv wire frames arranged in the same plane and adjacent each other withthe adjacent sides curved away from each other and having their outer sides straight and diverging from their front ends to their rear ends, and means rigidly connecting a pair of. ad acentpo nts on said adjacent sideswhereby said pair of wire frames may pivot resiliently to fit with-;

The reshaping device for ties constructed according to this invention comprises a pair of wire frames lO'and 11 arranged in the same plane and having adjacent sides 12 curved away. from eachother. The outer sides 13 of the frames diverge from the front ends to the rear ends. Each of the frames must be formed from resilient material such as resilient wire orthe like. From an inspection of Figs. 3 and 4c it will be seen that the. frames arearranged inthe same plane so that when -engaged within a necktie will serve to stretch the tie into a flat condition. Each of the frames'lO and 11 is constructed from a single piece of wire in the form of an, elongated loop. This wire has a. point 14 at one end, then extends straight for forming the inclined side 13 of the frame, then connects with a bent portion 15 connected with the curved side 12 which terminates, in the .vicinit y of the; point in a curledportion 16.

A means is also provided for rigidly connecting the frames and 11 at a pair of adjacent points along the said adjacent sides 12, whereby said pair of wire frames may pivot resiliently to fit within ties having various sloping sides. This means is in the form of a metallic clip 18 engaged around the points of the sides 12 and then firmly soldered into place so as to rigidly hold the wire frames in the same planes. In Fig. 1 the device is shown in a relaxed condition.
"- In Fig. 2 the dot and dash lines 19 indicate a tie, and the device is shown under stress within the supposed tie.
In Fig. 2 it should be noticed that portions of the curved sides 12 have been flattened out resiliently when the device was placed within the tie so that it acts to tend to expand and thus urge the straight sides 13 against the sides of the tie. It should be noticed that the frames 10 and 11 may rock around the metallic clip 18 to positions wherein the inclined sides 13 correctly fit against the sloping sides of the tie. It is intended that the device be inserted within the hollow opening of the tie. The operator may place thefore i finger through one of the loops 16 and the against the material of the tie in a manner, as for example as shown in F 1g. 5. This en-- thumb through the other loop 16 and in this manner insert and remove the device from the tie as is required. To hold the device within the tie, the points 19 may be engaged gagement serves to prevent the device from slipping out either fully or partially and thus losing some of its tension.
In Figs. 6 and 7 another form of the device has been illustrated, in which an adjustable means has been shown for rigidly connecting a pair of adjacent points on the adjacent sides of the frames, whereby said pair of wire frames may be adjusted to naturally maintain various positions with the outer sides sloping at angles to fit ties of different shapes. This means is in the form of a joiner member 20 formed with a rectangular opening 21 slidabl en a in rectan ular ositions 22 a D D 1 of the adjacent curved sides 12. Set screws 23 threadedly engage through the joiner member 20 and abut against the flat portions 22 to maintain the position of the joiner.
5 hen the screws 23 are loosened, the member 20 may he slipped upwards or downwards to different places along the curved sides 12 and thereafter secured in the newly adjusted position by the screws 23.
The reshaping device for ties may be used generally to place a worn necktie back into new condition. The device may be used after the tie has been properly cleaned and upon use will serve to hold the tie in correct shape especially during drying when the tie was mam dipped into a liquid to do the cleaning. After the tie has been properly stretched and held in the correct position for a sufiicient length of time, as is determined by each individual case, the reshaping devise may be removed and the tie will maintain its correct form.
\Vhile I have shown and described the preferred embodiment of my invention, it is to be understood that I do not limit myself to the precise construction herein disclosed and the right is reserved to all changes and modifications coming Within the scope of the invention as defined in the appended claims.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by United States Letters Patent is 1. .A reshaping device for ties, comprising a pair of wire frames in the same plane and having adjacent sides curved away from each other and outer sides straight and diverging from their front ends to their rear ends, and means rigidly connecting a pair of adjacent points on said adjacent sides whereby said pair of wire frames may pivot resiliently to fit within ties having various sloping sides.
2. A reshaping device forties, comprising a pair of wire frames in the same plane and having adjacent sides curved away from each other and outer sides straight and diverging from their front ends to theirrearends, and means rigidly connecting a pair ofadjacent points on said adjacent sides whereby said pair of wire frames may pivot resiliently to fit within ties having various sloping sides, each of said Wire frames being formed from a single. piece of wire bent into substantially loop shape.

A reshaping device forties, comprising a pair of wire frames in the same plane and having adjacent sides curved away from each other and outer sides straight and diverging from their front ends to their rear ends, and means rigidly connecting a pair of adjacent points on said adjacent sides whereby said pair of wire frames may pivot resiliently to fit within ties having various sloping sides, each of said wire frames being formed from a single piece of wire bent into substantially loop shape, said wire starting with a pointed portion, then extending straight to constitute the straight outer side of'the frame, then bent around for presenting the curved side, and finally bent into a curl at the rear end for engagement of ones finger in conveniently handling the frame.
4:. A reshaping device for ties, comprising a pair of wire frames in the same plane and having adjacent sides curved away from each other and outer sides straight and diverging from their front ends to their rear ends, and
each of said wire frames being formed from a single piece of Wire bent into substantially loop shape, said wire starting with a pointed portion, then extending straight to constitute the straight outer side of the frame, then bent around for presenting the curved side, and finally bent into a curl at the rear end for engagement of ones finger in conveniently handling the frame, and a clip engaging a portion of said curl and a portion of the straight side of the frame for rigidlyconnecting the frame into a resilient unit.

A reshaping device for ties, comprising a pair of wire frames in the same plane and having adjacent sides curved away from each other and outer sides straight and diverging from their front ends to their rear ends, and means rigidly connecting a pair of adjacent points on said adjacent sides whereby said pair of wire frames may pivot resiliently to fit within ties having various sloping sides, each of said wire frames being formed from a single piece of wire bent into substantially loop shape, said wire starting with a pointed 1 portion, then extending straight to constitute the straight outer side of the frame, then bent around for presenting the curved side, and finally bent into a curl at the rear endfor engagement of ones finger in conveniently handling the frame, and a clip engaging a portion of said curl and a portion of the straight side of the frame for rigidly connecting the frame into a resilient'unit, the pointed ends of said wires extending past said curls so as to be free and engageable against the material of a tie to hold the device within the tie.

A reshaping device for ties, comprising a pair of wire frames in the same plane and having adjacent sides curved away from each other and outer sides straight and diverging from their front ends to .theirrear ends, and means rigidly connecting a pair of adjacent points on said adjacent sides whereby said pair of wire frames may pivot resiliently to fit within ties having various sloping sides, comprising a clip engaged around points on said adjacent sides and soldered against motion onto the sides.

A reshaping device for ties, comprising a pair of wire frames in the same plane and having adjacent sides curved away from each other and outer sides straight and diverging from their front ends to their rear ends, and means rigidly connecting a pair of adjacent points on said adjacent sides whereby said pair of wire frames may pivot resiliently to fit within ties having various sloping side-s, said means being adjustable to various positions along the curved sides so asto change the natural angles of'said sloping sides.

A reshaping device for ties, comprising a pair ofwire frames in the same plane and having adjacent sides curved away from each other and outer sides straight and diverging from their front ends to their rear ends, and means rigidly connecting a pair of adjacent points on said adjacent sides whereby said pair of wire frames may pivot resiliently to fit within ties having various sloping sides, said means being adjustable to various positions along the curved sides so as to change the natural angles of said sloping sides, the adjustment being accomplished by means of a joiner member with a rectangular opening slidably engaged upon square portions of said curved sides, and set screws threadedly engaged through the joiner member and abuttable against the curved sides for holding the joiner member in fixed positions.
