IMPROVEMENT IN LOAD-BINDERS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 182,537, dated September 26, 1876 application filed December 8, 1875.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, FREDERIGK B. TURLEY, of Sonora, in the county of Muskingum and State of Ohio, have invented a new anduseful Improvement in a Load-Binderywhich improvement is fully set forth in the following specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings.
The object of my invention is to effectually and speedily fasten the load on wagon in hauling any bulky material, such as hay or wool, by the combination of the band or clamp A and hinged ring or its equivalent 0, with pawl or catch D, as shown in the sectional View, Figure 1, of the accompanying drawing. Fig. 2 is a perspective View of the machine, showing the staff or bar B, which it slides upon, the staff or bar being fastened to the end of the wagon, and a pole or its equivalent passes over the load and through the ring 0. As the pole is drawn down the holder goes with it, and becomes fixed by the pawl or catch D impinging upon the bar B.
When it is desirable to release the pole the ring is unhooked, which permits the pole to be disengaged from the binder.
I claim as my invention- The combination, ina boom-pole holder or hinder, substantially as described, of a sliding band and hinged ring or its equivalent, with a pawl for holding the pole.
