Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 182,173, dated September 12, 1876 application filed August *2, 1876.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, WILLIAM J. GUssEN, of Richmond, in the county of Henrico, and in the State of Virginia, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in- Smoking-Tobacco Bags; and do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, reference being had to the aecompanying drawings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon, making a part of this specication.
My invention `relates to tobaccofbags'; and it consists in providingthe bottom of a tobacco-bag Withan elastic string, or its equivalent, whereby the bottom is rendered self-adjust-ing to any form of tins used in filling the bags, as will be hereinafter more fully set forth. i v In order to enable others skilled in the art to which my invention appertains to make and use the same,I will now proceed to describe its construction and operation, referring to the annexed drawing, in Which- Fignre l is a perspective View of my tobacco-bag, showing` the same in position on the tin., Fig. 42 is a view of the bag turned wrong side out.
