It is the object of my invention to provide a steel wool pad adapted to be used-either singularly or in multiple for the purpose of being retained on a holder of various sizes and shapes It is a further object of my invention to provide a holder and a plurality of such pads in order to apply steel wool to varying conditions and uses.

Referring to the drawings, a pad is shown. consisting of ribbons of steel wool designoted 1, wound to form a flat bottom 2 and vertical side walls 3 thereof with a cup formed of strands of the wool projecting to form a steel wool fuzzy surface. This steel wool cup is mounted upon a holder consist ing of a support 4, usually a plate of wood, and to which is attached resilient felt-pads 5 by the nail '8, which permits the steel wool cups to be mounted on the holder.
