Application filed March 18,1931). "Serial No. 436.83%;
My invention relates toimprovements in combined card supports and display stands and the object of the invention is to con-' struct a device which in addition to sup- 5 porting a card will support any goods which it is desired'to display; a further object is 'to construct a device of the knock-down type which will pack fiat occupying the minimum of space and yet which may be readily as-.
sembled with great facility.
With the above and other objects in view which will hereinafter appear, my invention consists of a combined card support and dis play stand constructed and arrangedall" as hereinafter more particularly described and illustrated in the accompanyingdrawings in which Fig. 1 represents a plan view of a blank adapted to form the display stand.
to form the card support.
Fig. 3 is a perspective view of the .two blanks bent into their required shape and assembled to constitute the complete card support and display stand with the card at, tached tothe former, said view being taken from the display stand side.
Fig. 4 is a similar view to Fig. 3, viewed from the card support side, the cardbeing removed, and
Fig. 5 is a horizontal section through the assembled device.
Like characters of references indicate corresponding parts in the different views.
The card support or easel comprises a front portion 1 to which the card 2 is attached and wing portions 3 adapted to be bent rearwardly at an angle to the portion 1 so as-to support the card in a slightly inclined position to the vertical. The central part of the blank forming the card support has a locking member 4 stamped out of it, the lower portion thereof being uncut and connecting the locking member 4: to the lower part of the main portion 1. The top of the looking portion 4 is provided with. two,
spaced apart locking lugs 5 which, when the wing portions 3 are bent rearwardly into their operative position engage the outside faces thereof and hold them in position,
it being understood that the upper portion Gof the locking me'mber 4 is'bent down into a substantially horizontal position as illus.-
trated in Figs. 3 and The display stand comprises back portions 7 ,the wing portions 8*adapted'to be bent forwardly against the card support wing portions 3, 'andinterlocked between them and the lugs 5. A goods supporting portion 9 is formedat the top of the back portion 7 and is bent forwardlyjinto a sub- "stantially horizontal positionconstituting a platform upon which any goods may be displayed. The forward p'art ofthe'portion 9 terminates in a tongue 10 adapted toibe bent downwardly andlocked into slots 11. extending"dow'nwardly from the upper edgesiof the wing portions '3. Thus the displaystand is detachablyinterlocked tofthe card 'sup- Fig. 2 is a similar view of a blank adapted i Froi'n'the above description it will-fbe 'apparent that the complete card support and dlsplaystand consist each of a single piece of material adapted to be bent into the resimplicity of construction ofthe parts, they may be readily and quickly assembled into the complete device and will provide -a rigid support both for the card and the goods to be displayed.
What I claim as my invention is:
1. In a combined card support and display stand, the combination with a card support member, of a display stand member comprising a back portion, wing portionsadapted to be bent at an angle to the back portion, and a top platform portion, the back, wing and platform portions being formed integrally one with the other, and said display stand member being detachably interlocked with the card support member.
2. In a combined card support and display stand, the combination with a card support member comprising a front portion to which the card is attached, wing portions formed integrally with the front portion and adapted to be bent rearwardly, a locking member formed integrally with the front portion and. including lugs adapted to engage the Wing portions, a display stand .member comprising a, back portion, wing portions formed integrally therewith adapted to be bent forwardly against the card support member wing portions and held between themiiby the lugs in athe-Iloc'king member, a top platform portion formed integrally with the back-and wing portions of the display stand, and means on the platform portion for interlocking it with the card support member.
3. In a combined card support and dis play stand, the combination with a card support member comprising a front portion to which the card is attached, wing portions formed integrally with the front portion and adapted tobe bent rearwardly, alocking member formed integrally with the .front portion and including lugs .adapted to engage the wing portions, a vdisplay stand member comprising a back portion, wing portionsformed integrally therewith adapted to be bent forwardly against the card supportvmember wing portions and heldlbetween them and .the lugs in the looking member, a top platform portion formed integrally with the back and wing portions of the display stand, and a depending tongue at the forward edge of the platform portion adapted to look into slots extending .down from the upper edges of vthe wing portions of the card support member.
