Specication forming part of Letters Patent No. 180,175, dated July 25, 1876; application filed June 6, 1876.
To all whom it may concern: l
Be it known that we, ALONZO'TRUESDELL and GEORGE T. TowNsEND, of Warren, in the county of Trumbull and State of Ohio, have invented certain new and useful.Improvements in Corpse Coolers; and we do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact dei scription of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it pertains to make and use it, reference being had to the accompanying' drawings, which form part of this specification.
Our invention relates to an improvement in corpse-coolers.
In the drawing, Figure l is a side elevation of the device embodying our invention. Fig. 2 is a top view of the same. Fig. 3 is au end elevation. Fig. 4 is a view of the spring detached. Y
The invention consists in the parts and combinations as hereinafter specified and' claimed, wherein- A is the cane-bottomed or perforated coolin g-board, supported on the legs B, each pair of which is connected by a cross-piece. They are hinged at a', and arranged to fold inwardly.
C is a spring attached to the under side of the central cross-piece d of board A, and has notches b formed therein, as shown in the drawing. These notches, in which the crosspieces f tit or rest, prevent the legs from folding inwardly when the device is in use.
The spring C, when depressed at each end, allows the cross-pieces j' to pass beyond the notches b, which operation permits the legs to be folded under the cooling-board, where they are firmly held in place by said spring.
Dis the head-rest, which can be elevated or depressed by means of the adjusting-screw c, which passes through the frame ofthe cooling-board. E E are standards fitted into said frame, and serve'as supporters for the covering placed over the cooler.
What we claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
I A corpsecooler consisting of the perforated cooling-board A, folding legs B, notched spring C, and adjustable head-rest I), all combined and constnucted substantially as and for the purpose set forth.
