A still further very important object of the invention resides in the provision of an oiler of this nature which is exceedingly simple in its construction, light, easy to operate, strong and durable, inexpensive to manufacture, thoroughly efiicient'and reliable in use, and otherwise well adapted to the purpose for which it is designed.

WVith the above and numerous other objects in view as will appear as the description proceeds, the invention resides in certain novel features of construction, and in the combination and arrangement of parts as will be hereinafter more fully described and claimed.

Referring to the drawing in detail it will be seen that the letter C denotes an open ended casing formed with rear wall 5, side walls 6, and front wall 7 and this casing is divided into an upper compartment A and a lower compartment B by a partition 7 which is provided in the center with a valve seat opening 8 in which is seatable a valve head 9 on a stem 10 the upper end of which merges into threaded shanks 11. A cap 12 is mounted on the upper end of the casing by means of screws 14 extending therethrough and engaged in flanges 15 projecting inwardly from the upper ends of the side walls 6. A bushing 16 is threadedly engaged in the center of the cap and slidably receives the upper end of the stem 10 and threadedly receives'the shank 11. The bottom 20 of the compartment B is detachable being held in place by screws 21 engaging flanges 22 projecting inwardly from the side walls 6 and depending tubes 23 extend fron the bottom 20. Straight extension walls 2& are formed on the lower ends of the walls 5 and 6 to receive felt padding 25 which is held place by bolts 26 extending through the rear skirt 24 and having thumb nuts 27 thereon and these bolts hold in place plates 28 forming the front extension.

A plug 29 is threaded through an opening in the cap 12 so that it may be removed for filling the compartment A with oil. By moving the pointer 17 the valve 9 may be sed the desired amount from its seat opening 8 to allow the oil to be fed to the compartment B and through the pipes 23 into the felt padding 25. p

A socket 30 extends from therear wall 5 so tl at a handle 31 may be engaged therein thus the device may be used somewhat similar to a mop for oiling the floor quickly and easily as will be readily appreciated.

The present embodiment of the invention has been disclosed in considerable detail merely for the purposes of exemplification since in actual practice it attains the features of advantage enumerated as desirable in the statement of the invention and the above description.

it is apparent that changes in the details vof construction, and in the combination and arrangement of parts may be resorted to without departing from the spirit or scope of the invention as hereinafter claimed or sacrificing any of its advantages.

Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new is:

1. A device of the class described comprising a casing, padding in said casing, means at the lower end of the casing for anchoring the padding therein, a partition across the casing to form an upper compartment and a lower compartment, said partition having a valve seat opening, a valve associated therewith, means for controlling the valve exteriorly of the casing, and tubes extending downwardly from the bottom of the lower compartment into the padding.

2. A device of the class described comprising a casing, padding in said casing, means at the lower end of the casing for anchoring the padding therein, a partition across the casing to form an upper compartment and a lower compartment, said partition having a valve seat opening, a valve associated therewith, means for controlling the valve exteriorly oi the casing, and tubes extending downwardly from the bottom of the lower compartment into the padding, a detachable cap on the upper end of the casing, a plug threaded through an opening in the cap for filling the upper compartment.

3. A device of the class described comprising a casing open at its top and bottom and formed with a transverse partition to provide an upper and lower compartment, said partition having a valve seat opening, a cap on the upper end of the casing, means for deta hably mounting the cap, a bushing in the center of the cap, a valve stem slidable in the bushing and having a shank also threaded in the bushing, means for rotating the shank, a valve head on the bottom end of the stem assooiatable with the valve seat opening, a detachable bottom in the lower compartment, depending tubes from the bottom, padning in the lower eompar ment of the casing and means for holding padding in the bottom of the casing.

4. A device or" the class described comprising a casing open at its top and bottom and formed with a transverse partition to provide an upper and lower compartment, said partition having a valve seat opening, a cap on the upper end of the casing, means for detachably mounting the cap, a bushing in the center of the cap, a valve stem slidable in the bushing and having a shank also threaded in the bushing, means for rotating the shank, a valve head on the bottom end of the stem assooiatable with the valve seat oaening, a detachable bottom in the lower compartment, depending tubes from the bottom, a skirt extending from the casing, padding in said casing, and means for holding the padding about the tubes.
