LINGERIE FASTENER Filed Jan. 10, 1950 azwsze 2 Edam Patented Feb. 24, 1931 UNITED STATES GUSSIE '1'. EDENS, OF BIG LAKE, TEXAS LINGERIE FASTENER Application filed January 10, 1930. Serial No. 419,910.
This invention relates to a lingerie fastener, one of the objects being to provide a simple and compact device which can be firmly secured to an outer garment and at the same time hold the lingerie straps from slipping over the shoulders. 7
Another object is to provide a derice'lof this character which is light and simple in construction and can be made in various ornamental designs.
With the foregoing and other objects in view which will appear as the description proceeds,,the invention resides in the combination andarrangement of parts and in the details of construction hereinafter described and claimed, it being understood that changes in the precise embodiment of the invention herein disclosed may be made within the scope of what is claimed without depart- 2 ing from the spirit of the invention.
In the accompanying drawing the preferred form of the invention has been shown.
In said drawing,
Figure 1 is a plan view of the device.
Figure 2 is a central longitudinal section therethrough, the fastener being shown in engagement with the parts with which it is to e used.
Figure 3 is a central transverse section shpiwing the holding chain attached at one en Referring to the figures by characters of reference, 1 designates the body of the fastener which can be of any suitable design, material and size. Extending longitudinally of the body at one side is an attaching pin 2 suitably mounted at 3 between-ears 4 while its other or pointed end is adapted to engage a hook 5 or other suitable keeper. On the other side of the body at opposed points are means for attaching a small chain 6 to the body. This means includes an eye 7 and a small hook 8. The chain 6 can be provided with a terminal ring 9 for engaging the hook.
In practice, the fastener is placed beneath an outer garment A and held thereto by inserting a pin 2 through a portion thereof as shown in Figure 2. The chain 6 is then drawn beneath the lingerie strap B which is to be held and is then placed in engagement with the book 8. It will be apparent, therefore, that as the fastener is attached to the garment A it becomes impossible for the strap- B to slip laterally out of proper position.
That is claimed is:
A lingerie fastener including a body having an opening for the reception of a portion of a fabric to which the fastener is attached, a pin connected to one end portion of the body for insertion through said fabric to hold a portion thereof in the opening, means at the other end of the body for detachably engaging the pin to secure it in engagement with a fabric, a flexible fastening element secured to one end of the body, means for detachably securing one end of said element to the other end of the body, said element providing a flexible loop for loosely holding a shoulder strap against lateral displacement but permitting free lengthwise movement of the strap, the pin and the flexible element being located entirely on opposite sides respectively of the body and brid 'ng the opening.
In testimony that claim the foregoing as my own, I have hereto aflixed my signature.
