The object of this invention is the provision of simple means for adj ustably securing a picture wire or cord upon a picture frame which will obviate the necessity of twisting the wire against a screw eye or the like and depending the adjustment of the picture by such twisting, and which, in addition to providing a means for securely fastening the wire to` the frame permits of the adjustment of the frame on the wire, so that the picture canbeY hung at desired elevations and effectively retained inproper position.

As disclosed by Figure 2 of the drawings one end of a wire or picture cord 1 may be attached to the back of a picture frame 2 by 1 connecting the said wire to the usual screw eye. The wire is directed around the' looped portion of a hanger 3 which is secured to the wall of a room. The second'end of the wire 1 is secured on the picture frame by myimprovement. e V

Before entering a detailed description `of the improvement it is to be stated that instead of one, two of such clamps may be fixed on the rear face of the picture frame, as disclosed by Figure 3 of the drawings in which Vinstance two supporting wires are employed.

Each of the clamps comprises a base plate 4 formed, adjacent its ends with openings through which pass securing elements that enter the rear of the picture frame.
