This invention relates to combination garments consisting of an inner belt or support surrounded by an external garment which furnishes a smooth exterior over the inner l belt and in addition makes a form fitting u garment that gives the proper shape to the body when the exterior garments are worn.

An object of the invention is to produce an outer garment giving smoothness of contour 1G to the body while. permitting belt adjustments to furnish abdominal support.

Another object of the invention is to produce a combination garment in which the inner belt or support is adjustable by means 15 of lacings at the side of the garment'and the outer garment is adjustable at the side over these lacings through the vflexibility n furnished by rubber woven or elastic cloth.

Referring to Fig. 1, the outer garment may be considered for purpose of description, as divided into a back member 1, a front meinber 2, and two side portions 3 and 4. vThe back member 1 has two double stays of bone or metal, 5 and 6,' extending clear 'across the garment to give it proper rigidity. In addition there are two double stays 7, 8, extending from the bottom of the outer garment to approximately the waist line at 9,10. The absence of the stays in the upper portion of the seams 11 and 12 gives proper freedom to the movement of the chest and arms of the wearer while the lower stayed portions 7 and 8 furnish the strength and rigidity necessary clasp' inV PiiiElarv OFFICE i to give` the desired uplift through the inner :i

Y It is immaterial what' cloth is used to-make l the .outer garment, butfor pleasing appearance, the entire outer garment with the exception of the elastic portions and the upper front portion 20, `may be made of brocaded cloth. The' upper portion 20 ofthe front member may be made of ribbed mercerized or silk cloth.

The inner belt or support consists of 'tWo rear sections 21, 22, sewed into the seams con- 7 sections 21, 22 are adapted to be laced side sections 23 and 24 respectively. Side section 24 is integral with front member 25 of the belt and the other side section 23 is adapted to be removably secured to the front member by means of hooks 26 and eyes 27.

The front member 25 preferably has three pairs of stays 27 28 and A29. The front member also carries two
