IMPROVEMENT IN PRESSlNG-BARS FOR MOLDING-MACHINES.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 178,712, dated June 13, 1876 application filed April 20, 187 6.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, HENRY BAUER, of Butler county, State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new and useful Improvement in or Attachment to Molding-Machines, which I call The Universal Self-Adj ustin g Pressure bar or Spring for Molding-Machines; and I do hereby declare the following to be atull, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming part of this specification.

Figure 1 represents a longitudinal top view or plan, exhibiting the pressing-bars a a, a a a, a, the stand or base-plate b, with slot 0, for fastening to molder, and thumb-screw d, by which the pressing-bars are firmly held in position when in use.
Fig. 2 represents a longitudinal side view of same, exhibiting the shape of the pressingbars a, and the arrangement by which they slide up and down on the thumb-screw 01, also the manner in which said thumb-screw, in con junction with the bed-plate b, grasps or holds the pressing-bars in place.-
Fig. 3 represents an end view of same, showing pressing-bars a we a. a a, all on a level with thumb-screw cl, and stand or base-plate b in position.
It will be apparent to any person skilled in the mechanism of a mold-planer that by having the pressing-bars of different thickness,
and arranged with the arched slot, as exhib-' ited in Fig. 2, as indicated by the dotted lines across the face of thumb-screw plate at E, and continuation of the line, as shown in drawing, forming the arch above and opening below, the pressing-bars will accom mod atethemselves to any desired shape of molding, and may have their relative position changed at pleasure.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as my invention, and desire Letters Patent therefor, is-- The stand or base-plate b, with the thumbscrew cl, in combination with the automatically-adjustable pressing-bars a a a a a a, constructed to operate substantially as and for the purpose specified.
