When these members 48, '44and45 are raised upwardly they strike the projections 50, 51 and: 52 which prevent their being raised any further, so that when the oil can is removed from the oiling operation the lids 43, and 45 will fall back to closed position.
Fixedly mounted in the bottom of the tubular members 37, 38 and 39 are the wooden members 53, and 55 through which the lul'iricating material is adapted to seep and be conveyed to the roll portions 13, 14 and 56.
The member 31 has the downwardly and inwardly turned member 60 which is adapted to press against the member 39 so as'to adjust the same as to its position with relation to the member 31 and to cause the portion 55 to fit properly on the front roll stand bearing 56.
It is desired to be noticed that the members 30 and 81 form a straight plate on the bottomside thereof which fit against the members l9 and 20 and form a cover for these members and prevents lint from falling downward into the bearing portion which serves a double purpose, in that it gives a proper lubrication to the roll stand bearing,and prevents lint from falling into the roll stand bearing.
The member 31 has the cut away portions 63 and 64. which are adaptedto fit over the members 22 and 23 and prevents the plates 30 and 31 from sliding downwardly, but holds them in proper position with relation to the roll stand bearings.
In the drawings and specification I have set forth a preferred embodiment of my invention, and although specific terms are employed they are used in a generic and descriptive sense only, and not for purposes of limitation, the scope of the inventionbeing set forth in the appended claims.
I claim 1. In a lubricating device forroll stands and the like, a plate member adapted to fit on top of the roll stand, said plate member-being in two sections and adjust-able as to length, a plurality of tubular members mounted in said plate member in a slidable manner, said tubular members being adapted to receive a lubricating material, vegetable plug members mounted in the lower'ends of said tubular members and being adapted to press against the bearing portion of the journals mounted in said roll stand.
2. In a lubricating device for roll stands, two plate members adjustably secured to each other, a plurality of tubular members slidably mounted in said plate members, a cover for each of the said tubular members, a wooden plug member mounted in the lower end. of said tubular members, said wooden plug member being adapted to press against the journal portions of the rolls in said roll stand to pass a lubricant from the tubular members to the said journal portion.
3, In a lubricating device for the journal portions of rolls in a roll stand for roving I frames, spinning frames and the like, a plate member adapted to rest on top of the roll stand, a second plate member adjustably mounted on the first plate member, a plurality of tubular members mounted in a slidable manner in said plate members, a wooden plug for the bottom of each of the tubular members, said wooden plug being adapted to rest on the journal of the rolls in the roll stand, said tubular members being adapted to receive a lubricant and said lubricant being adapted to seep through the wooden membersto lubricate the journal portion of the rolls in the roll stand.
4. In a lubricating device for spinning frames, roving frames and the like, a plate member adaptedto rest on a portion of the spinning frame above the roll stand bearing, a second plate member lying in the same plane and adjustably mounted on;the first plate member, a plurality of tubular members mounted in both plate members andbeing adapted to receive a lubricant, a wooden plug member mounted in the lower end of each .of the tubular members, and being adapted to rest on the journal of the rolls in the roll stand, whereby a liquid lubricant isadapted to be deposited in the tubular member and to seep through the wooden plug member in the lower end of said tubular members.
5. In a lubricating device for the journal bearings in roll stands, of spinning frames, roving frames and thehke, a platemember adapted to rest above the roll stand, a second plate member adapted to be adjustably mounted in relation to the first plate member, and having its main portion lying in the same plane with the first plate member, a plurality of slidably mounted tubularmembers mounted in said plate members and pro jectingto a point above the journal of the rolls which are mounted in the roll stand, a plug member mounted in the lower end of each of the tubular members, said tubular members being adapted to receive a lubricant, and a cover member for each of the tubular members, said cover member being adapted to automatically close by its own weight when raised to permit a lubricant to be inserted into the tubular members, and after i the liquid has been inserted into the tubular members and the liquid depositing member has been withdrawn.
6. In a lubricating device for rollstands and the like, a plate member adapted to fit on top of the roll stand, said plate member being in two sections andbeing adjustable as to length, a plurality of tubular members mounted in said plate member in a slidable manner, a vegetable plug membermounted in the bottom of each of the tubular members, said plug member being adaptedto: bear against the journal portion of the rolls in a roll stand, a lubricant being adapted to be placed in the tubular members, and to .lElU
