This invention relates to slicingmachines of the kind in which the substanceto be moved to and fro past a rotary knife,,ineans being provided whereby the substanc e'can be fed step by step towards the knife, either in the working of the machine. v r
Slicing machines of the above kind are generally operated eitherby hand or anelectric motor, but it has been proposed'to make them convertible from hand-operated machines into power-driven machines, and vice versa However, inorder to do this, certain parts have to beuadded, removed or'1nter-- changed, and this entails time and trouble.
-The object of this invention :is to make slicing machines so that they can bereadily operated by hand or by power-Ives desired Without the necessity for removing or changinganyoftheparts.
According to this invention, the slicing machine has, in combination, hand-operable mechanism and power-driven mechanism and also mechanism whereby, without altering or changing anyof the parts, the machine can be operated wholly or partly'by either the hand or the power mechanism, as desired, the arrangement being such that, when the machine is being driven by hand, it is disconnected from the power-driving mechanism.
