IMPROVEMENT IN WATER-CLOSET BOWLS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 177,647, dated May 23, 1876 application filed February 29, 1876.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, THOMAS G. KNIGHT, of the city and county of New York, State of New York, have invented certain new and useiul,
Improvements in Water-Closet Bowls; and to enable others skilled in the art to make the same, I will proceed to describe it, referring to the drawings, in which the same letters indicate like parts in each of the figures.
The nature of this invention will be fully understood from the accompanying specification and drawing.
The nature of this invention consists in forming odor-passages from an annular chamber formed around the' rim of a bowl, having a conducting-pipe to connect with an exit-draft funnel. v
In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a top view of a bowl. Fig. 2 is a vertical sectional view.

What I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The closet bowl or basin d, provided with the annular chamber a, having an elongated slit opening, 0, the odor-exit pipe e, and water-induction pipe b, substantially as described.
