these improvements are fully illustrated in Eig 7,;8 and 9,, having the following fea turesu The bracket 2 -withits supporting flangedpportion 3f may; eorrespond to the structures already described, and similarly, the throat portion 5 for receiving the bottle neck may be formed with a yoke portion a and 9 corresponding in general to that already described, but in this case, the outer portions of the curved yoke are extended upwardly as at 4 to a level slightly above the top of the bottle rim 7 thereby providing a housing to the yoke to shield the mouth of the bottle. The lid or cover plate 10 is hinged to the bracket by the parts 11, 12 and 14, as before described in connection with Fig. l, and will need no further description in this respect. This lid, however, is arranged to rest upon the upwardly projecting housing portion 4 of the yoke 41;, so that it ,formsa seal connection. The forward part of the lid has the downwardly extending apron part. 13 which, preferably, extends down to the bottom of the yoke i, and with lateral edges brought into substantial abutting relation with the forward edges of the said yoke. In this manner, the apron portion 13 constitutes a retaining means to prevent the bottle neck from disengagement from the yoke,and, in effect, performs the retaining results of the downwardly projectaccumulations of dirtwhich may be carried through the air on windy days .as well .as

adding further security against cats who might succeed in reaching the suspension device, notwithstanding its elevation from the ground.

"Itwill now be apparent that I have devised a novel and useful construction whichembodies the features of advantage enumerated as desirable, and while I have in the present instance shown and described the preferred embodiment thereof which has been found in practice to give satisfactory and reliable results, it is tofbe understood that I do not restrict myself to the details, as the same are susceptible of modification in various particulars without departing from the spirit or scope of the invention. p Having now described my invention, what I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent A suspension device for supporting milk bottles, consisting of a bracket having means for attachment to a window sill or other suitable place and providedv with a forwardly directed, U shaped. throat portion having a width of opening to receive the head of a bottle neck to be suspended, the forward ends of said throat portion having an upward exj tension to retain the bottle neck within the 5 throat portion and said extensions continued rearwardly asshielding' portions to the outside of the bottle neck, combined with a cover plate or lid adapted to extend over the forward extensions of the throat and having w downwardly extending portions at the front acting both as a shield'to the bottle neck, and said lid or cover having a looseiconnection with the bracket at the rear of the throat the same constituting a hinge and at the same time to permit bodily movement of the entire lid or cover relatively to the bracket and its throat portions, whereby said lid or cover may at alltimes operateas a sealing means to 9 r the throat or to the bottle neck according to which maybe the higher.
