LUNCH KIT Filed March 29, 1929 E EE Patented AugQE, 1930 v TES PATENT F FICE HERMANN WEBER, 01F 'PATERSON, NEW .Il'IERSIEIYv LUNCH. KIT
Application filed March 29,
The main object of this invention is to provide a lunch kit which can be readily transported beneath a folded arm of a person. As a general rule, workmen or the like who use 5 lunch kits do not carry thelunch kit suspended from the handle of'the lunch kit, but, instead, fold their arm about the lunch kit, and, with the usual type of such an article, the lunch kit slips from place and drops "to 10. the ground causing the person using the lunch kit to lose his or her lunch. It is the purpose of this invention to provide a lunch kit with a shouldered recess which may fit snugly between the arm and the body of a person and 15 the lunch kit will not become dislodged from such position. V
The above and other objects will become apparent in the description below, in which 2 characters of reference refer to like-named as parts in the drawing. y
Referring briefly to the drawing, Figure 1' is a perspective view of the lunch kit, showing the same in its entirety in closed condition.
Figure 2 is alongitudinal sectional eleva- Z itional view through the lunch kit body.
Referring in detail to the drawing, the
. numerals and 11 indicate the end walls of a container which is preferably rectangular in shape. These end walls 10 and, 11 are 30 joined by side Walls 12 and 13. Intermediate the length of the side Walls 12 and 13 a recess 14 is formed by o ifsetting a portion 15 of the intermediate areas of the side walls 12 and 13. The flanges 16 which connect the ofiset ortion 15 with the remainder of thewalls 12 and 13 at the junction between the walls 12 and 13 and the offset portion 16 areprovided with ridges 17 formed 'bydishing out the material at this location. "A cover 18,
preferably semi-circular in shape, is attached to the side wall 13 of the container by hinges 19. This cover 18 is provided with a recess portion 20 and ridges ,21' which arefor the 7 same purpose as will be described for the re mainder of the container.
The container is so constructedas to be easily pinched vor gripped between the, arm and body of a person. The container may simply be provided with ridges such as those indicated by the numeral 17 and the numeral 4929. Serial No. Q,852.
21 to perform its function, but the container in being carried would not be as securely gripped as when a recess such as that indicated by the numeral 14 and a recess such as that indicated by the numeral 20 are employed; That portion of the arm of a person nearest the container enters into the recesses 20 and 14 between the ridges 21 and 17 and by pressing the arm of the user toward the body, the container may be securely carried without being suspended from the hand.
It is to be noted that certain changes in form and construction may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention.
I claim: I
A container, an arched cover therefor, cooperating fiat recessed surfaces on said cover and said container, said recesses having shoulders formed at the ends of said recesses joining said recessed surfaces'with the remainder of said container and cover, the cover and container walls having semi-circular ridges thereon, said ridges and shoulders being'adapted to serve as retaining elements when said container and cover are carried between the arm antibody of a person.
In testimony whereof I aflix my signature.
HERMANN V lVEBER.
