The present invention relates to gluing clamps and the like and has for its prime object to provide a durable and compact device of this character which is simple in its construction, inexpensive to manufacture, easy to manipulate and adjust, and thoroughly efficient and reliable in use and operation.
WVith the above and numerous other objects in view as will appear as the description pro- 1 ceeds, the invention resides in certain novel features of construction, and in the combination and arrangement of parts as will be hereinafter more fully described and claimed.

Referring to the drawing in detail it will be seen that the letter C denotes a channeled elongated open ended casing which includes a bottom 5 with sides 6 rising therefrom per- 39 pendicularly. The upper edges of the sides 6 are provided extending inwardly from one end with inwardly directed flanges 7 which terminate intermediate theends of the casing and the remaining portions of the edges of the sides are formed with notches 8.
A plate 9 is disposed over the end of the casing 0 remote from the flanges 7 and has a right angular extension 10 fixed to the bottom 5. An elongated shaft 11 has a reduced end 12 j ournalled through an opening in the plate 9. A counterbalance crank 14 is fixed on the extremity of the reduced end 12 and a spacer 15 is'disposed between the plate 9 and the crank 14.
A jaw 16 rises from a block 17 slidable in the casing G and having notches 18 to recelve the flanges 7. A portion 11 of the shaft 11 is threaded and threaded through the block 17. A jaw 19 rises from a block 20 which is slidable on the remaining portion 11 of the 1930. Serial No. 433.418.

It will be apparent, of course, that the first adjustment is accomplished by moving the jaw 19 and the final clamping action accomplished by turning the crank 14 to move the jaw 16 toward the 'jaw 19."
It is thoughtthat the construction, operation,utility and advantages of this invention will now be quite apparent to those skilled in this art without afmore detailed description thereof. j j
' The present embodiment 'ofthe invention has been disclosed in considerable detail merely'for the purposes of exemplification since in actual practice it attains the features of advantageenumerated as desirable in the' statement 'ofthe invention and the above description.
I; will be apparent that changesin the details" of construction, and in the combination andarrangement ofparts may be resorted to without departing from the'spirit or scope of the invention as hereinafter claimed or sacrificing any of its advantages.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new is:
1. A gluing clamp of the class described comprising an elongated channel member, said channel member having throughout a portion of its length inwardly directed flanges, a block having notches to receive said flanges so that the block may be slidably mounted in the channel member, a jaw rising from the block, a shaft j ournalled in one end of the channel member and having a portion threaded through said block, a second block slidable on the remaining portion of the shaft and in the channel member and having a jaw rising therefrom, the channel member having notches, and a spring pressed pawl on the second mentioned jaw engageable with the notches.
2. A gluing clamp of the class described i comprising an elongated channel member, said channel member having throughout a portion of its length inwardly directed flanges, a block havin notches to receive said 5 flanges so that the %lock may be slidably mounted in the channel member, a jaw rising from the block, a shaft j ournalled in one end of the channel member and having a portion threaded through said block, a second block slidable on theremaining portion of the shaft and in the channel member and having a j aw, rising therefrom, the channel member having notches, and a spring pressed pawl on the second mentioned jaw engageable with the notches, a plate across one end of the channel member and. having an extension fixed thereunder, said shaft having a reduced ex tension journallecl through the plate, and a crank on said reduced extension.
3. Agluing clamp of the class described comprising an elongated open ended andv open top casing including a bottom, a pair of sides rising therefrom, the upper edges of said sides having series of notches formed therein extending from one end to an intermediate portion and flanges extending from the other end to said intermediate portion, said flanges being directed inwardly, a block slidable in the casing and having notches to receive the flanges, a jaw rising from the block, an end plate over said one end of the casing and having an extension fixed under the casin to the bottom thereof, a shaft having a reduced end journalled through the plate, a crank on the reduced end, a block slidable on the shaft and in the casing and having a jaw rising therefrom, a pawl rockabl mounted on the second mentioned j aw and engageable with the notches, spring means normally holding the pawl in engaging position, said shaft having a threaded portion through said first mentioned block.
