usually several times a week, and as the fallers are quite close together each one must be so removed and cleaned causing great loss ot time.V A
, I have discovered that by locating a cleaning brush under the'bottom screws so that it will be in contact Vwith the bottom faces of the fallers, as they'move, not only thebottom but the entire taller will be cleaned.
It appears that the longer of the shorter libers being caught by the brush, wipe around and carry with them the short bers e and the dirt so that all are* caught and removed.

The other'end is bent at l0 to carry a brush socket 31 held on by means of guide screw 32 and fastened to brush H by screws 33. Screw 32 enters loosely slot 35 in end 40.
This brush H is of such distance from front to back that it spans the space between at least two fallers M as they travel, and is so located that as they travel along the screws, the bottom face of each faller is engaged and cleaned.
By using an open bearing the whole j brush and its support can instantly be re` moved for cleaning, other purpose.
I prefer to make slot 35 in end l0 a little longer crosswise and lengthwise than guide screw 32 to allow brush H to press evenly against the whole bottom face of each faller.
I claim: v
l. The combination in a gill box having means to cause the stock to move horizontally in a given direction and having top screws and bottom screws together with fallers each of substantially rectangular cross section and each having pins projecting from its top face and having a flat bottom face, said fallers being caused to move along and between the top screws whereby the pins penetrate the stock and to move in the same direction therewith but at a slower speed and adjusting or for any which fallers then descend and move each in I an upright position in the opposite direction tion therewith but at a slower speed and which fallers then descend and move each in an uprightposition in the opposite direction between the bottom screws; of a flat faced brush positioned under the bottom screws of such size as to span the space between two fallers with the bottom faces of which it engages while said fallers are supported by said bottom screws; and means to yieldingly hold said brush in contact with the bottom faces of said fallers as they move along the bottom screws.
3. The combination in a gill box having means to cause the stock to move horizontally in a given direction and having top screws and bottom screws together with fallers each of substantially rectangular cross section and each having pins projecting from its top face rand having a dat bottom face, said fallers being caused to move along and between the top screws whereby the pins penetrate the stock and to move in the same direction therewith but at a slower speed and which fallers then descend and move each in an upright position in the opposite direction between the bottom screws; of a-flat faced brush positioned under the bottom screws at a position nearer the lifting than the receiving end thereof, said brush being of such size as to span the space between two fallers with the bottom faces of which it engages while said fallers are supported by said bottom screws; and means to yieldingly hold said brush in contact with the bottom faces of said fallers as they move along the bottom screws.
