633,556. Roller clearers for spinning and other textile machines. SOC. EN NOM COLLECTIF DES BREVETS FLORIMOND DELEPIERRE Oct. 18, 1946, No. 31073. Convention date, Nov. 20, 1945. [Classes 120 (ii) and 120 (iii)] Clearer rollers 2, operating on the front top rollers of a spinning or other textile machine, are cleaned by a device comprising a. trough-like member 3 which carries a cleaning member 10 arranged to contact the clearer rollers 2, so as to remove fluff therefrom, and which is traversed along the rollers 2 by freely rotatable cones 14 resting upon the rollers and with their axes at an angle to a plane containing the axes of the rollers, each cone 14 having an eccentric end portion 17 of reduced diameter tangential to the base of the cone with its sides sloping towards the base, so that, if a cone 14 encounters a roller 2 of greater diameter than others, the sloping periphery of the eccentric portion will permit the cone to climb the roller. The trough-like member 3 supports two plates 4, 5 arranged to carry a spool 9 on which an endless strip of card clothing 10 is mounted. A brush may also be provided to sweep off fibres and dust from the bottom rollers ; other brushes, combs or blowers may also be arranged. In order to prevent the cleaning device from falling when one, or more, of the rollers 2 is missing, a bent rod 21 may be attached to the spindle of the leading cone 14 to act as a support when necessary.
