This invention relates to devices for holding a door in a predetermined position; and it consists of a clamping device specially constructed to hold a door securely in a posi- 5 tion toenable the lock seat to be-suitably mortised. vIt'is necessary that'the door be held securely, .and theyvarious wedges ordinarily used for that purpose are not satisfac tory as the door is not held. with sufficient;-
