IMPROVEMENT IN NECK-TIE FASTENERS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 176,016, dated April 11, 1876; application filed February -To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, MIcHAEL D. LEVY, of the city, county, and State of' New York, have invented a new and Improved Neck-Bow Fastener, of which the following is a speciication:
My invention consists of a metal hoek. adapted to hook onto the neck ot' the collarstud from above, and sow arranged, relatively to the top of the bow or to the frame, that it is prevented from rising by the collar turned over the bow or frame, so that the hook cannot work oft' from the stud.
Figure l is a rear elevation of a neck-bow having myiinproved fastener. Fig. 2 is a sectional elevation, taken on line a: m; and Fig. 3 is a perspective View ofthe fastener.

A represents the fastener, the same being a hook attached to the inside ofthe bow-frame B, and having a not-ch, C, or fork, suitably contrived for hooking down on the shank or neck of the collarbutton behind the head, and
the hook is so located with reference to the top D of thebow or of the frame B that when hooked on and adjusted under the turn-over collar the latter `will l prevent the hook from rising and disconnecting from the stud.
I have represented a hook or fastener, in the drawing, constructed of wire, which I prefer, but I may use plate metal, if preferred, or other suitable material.
By the relative arrangement of thefa-stener to the top, the hook keeps the bow l'roin turning or shifting about, and holds it steady.
I am aware that it is not new to use a forked plate on the collar-button to retain the neck-tie, or a spring piece to clasp the collar` button; but
